Every October we focus on breast cancer awareness. Learn how to get properly screened and find ways you can get involved in this very important cause.
The Susan G. Komen for the Cure Breast Cancer Helpline (1-877 GO KOMEN [1-877-465-6636]) puts you in touch with a trained and caring staff, Monday-Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. ET, and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET. TDD and Spanish available.
The helpline provides free, professional support services to anyone with breast health and breast cancer concerns, including breast cancer patients and their families. They do not provide medical advice, nor make referrals to physicians or evaluate physicians, medical facilities or services.
"Extra" Lifechanger Dr. Kristi Funk has teamed with Yoplait to encourage women and men to put their breast health first this October. Yoplait is launching its Save Lids to Save Lives program, now in its 12th year. Look for special pink lids on Yoplait yogurt cups. For every pink lid saved and sent in by December 31, Yoplait will donate 10 cents to long-time partner Susan G. Komen for the Cure -- up to $1.6 million with a guaranteed minimum donation of $500,000.
