Rosie Responds

0507rosie.jpg

Rosie O'Donnell is known for her fierce opinions -- but when it comes to former "View" boss Barbara Walters, Rosie harbors no bad feelings. "I love her," O'Donnell wrote on her recently upgraded website.

Barbara's surprising tell-all with Oprah this week might have inspired Rosie to respond to things Walters said about her. Walters told Winfrey she believed Rosie boosted ratings on "The View" -- with her vitriol! Barbara said, "the audience tuned in every day to see who [Rosie] was going to hate."

While the former co-hosts may butt heads on certain issues, they do bear a certain respect. Walters told Oprah that she would "always have the greatest affection for [Rosie.]"

In response to a fan's question, "So, Rosie, alcoholic or not? Just spit it out! What led you to stopping the beer?" Rosie explained, "'Cause I was drinking too much, 'cause I didn't want to any more, 'cause it is hard to lose weight when drinking, 'cause I can never have only one."

No Show for Rosie O’Donnell

Rosie O’Donnell won’t be hosting her own show after all. Talks for a one-hour MSNBC talk show hosted by Rosie have fallen apart, she announced on her official blog.

“We were close to a deal,” she writes. “2day there is no deal. Poof. My career as a pundit is over
b4 it began.”

Rosie had reportedly been in talks to host a primetime show on the network in a timeslot that would pit her against “Larry King Live.” Yesterday, her former “The View” co-host Barbara Walters told “Extra” she supported the move, saying, “Rosie is a marvelous talent and when she can do her own show she will be perfectly happy.”

Rosie is reportedly in talks to host a primetime talk show on MSNBC. The time slot would pit her against CNN’s “Larry King Live” and Fox News Channel’s “Hannity & Colmes.”

Rosie's Jabs Unveiled in Book

Rosie O’Donnell’s book “Celebrity Detox” has hit shelves, and she’s not holding back about how she really feels about her fellow celebrities.

She writes she felt like an outsider on “The View,” saying she considered herself “hugely threatening.”

She says Elisabeth Hasselbeck “continued to appall me with her almost glib comments about torture…but the feeling of baseline love stayed.” Rosie left the show after a heated on-air fight with Elisabeth about the Iraq War, when she argued that Elisabeth wouldn’t “defend” her against negative publicity.

It’s a similar sentiment in her dealings with Barbara Walters.

Rosie O’Donnell is taking aim at “The View,” fighting back at recent reports that the show has had a ratings boost since she left.

In her latest blog entry, titled “Truth in Advertising, Baby!” Rosie writes, “While I’m all about creative use of ratings, I think we need to do something with the lovely people at ‘The View’ insisting that the ratings are up without Rosie when in fact they are not.”

She claims that while the gab-fest has gained older viewers, the younger crowd is actually smaller now.

Rosie blasts, “They should really use the actual real numbers in their press statements.”

Rosie Cancels Diane Sawyer Interview

Rosie O'Donnell has canceled her interview with "Good Morning America's" Diane Sawyer.

The sit-down, meant to discuss her new book "Celebrity Detox," was set for Oct. 9.

A spokesperson from the show says, "We were looking forward to having Rosie as a guest on the program. Unfortunately, today we were informed she has decided to cancel all of her interviews."

Rosie's decision comes just after she refused an invitation from Oprah Winfrey to chat about her book.

The snub sparked rumors of a feud, but Rosie insisted the two were not fighting and simply said she wasn't ready to talk about the book, saying it was "too raw."

Rosie says she will not do any interviews about "Celebrity Detox."

The book hits shelves Oct. 9.
