Tom Cruise
America’s favorite superstar was all over the red carpet Sunday night. Tom Cruise joined stars Ray Liotta and Jason Patrick at the Hollywood Film Festival for the screening of their new film, "Narc."
The gritty undercover cop story stars Liotta and Patrick, but casts Tom as producer. Cruise says, "It's an exciting picture. It's a very intense film, great performances, and it's just beautifully directed."
That is music to "Narc" director Joe Carnahan’s ears. This low-budget entry caught Tom's eye at the Sundance Film Festival. Now, with Tom's backing "Narc" is going big time and Carnahan is still dazed. He says, "It' s Tom Cruise, man. I almost asked him for his autograph a minute ago."
Not only is Tom thrilled about promoting this small movie, he's thrilled because the braces are off. He says, "It’s a good feeling, I can close my mouth."
One thing Tom wants to open up about is being quoted as supporting war in Iraq. He says, "I was actually misquoted on that. I don’t know what Bush and Prime Minister Blair know. So I can’t sit here and judge. I can’t sit here and judge it right now. That's exactly what I said. I said I don’t know."
Tom's already on his way to Japan for his next movie, "The Last Samurai," and soon Cruise will be back in the arms of his love Penelope.
