Val Kilmer

He broke the sound barrier opposite Tom Cruise in 1986's "Top Gun." Since then, Val Kilmer's played everything from Batman to Jim Morrison and even "Tombstone" gunslinger Doc Holliday.

Now Val is back flying high on the Hollywood scene, this time playing a secret agent in a new political thriller directed by David Mamet. Kilmer says of his character, "His assignment is to retrieve a girl of a high-ranking American official."

Joining Kilmer in the spy story is consummate character actor William H. Macy, "Third Watch's" Tia Texada, and "Antwone Fisher's" Derek Luke. Derek explains, "My character Curtis, he's a protégé of Val Kilter’s character. He's being taught how to defend himself as a delta force agent and he's learning the ropes."

So what did the up-and-comers think about playing opposite Kilmer? Texada says, "Working with him is wonderful. He will pull things out of you and that's very respectable when you're working with someone."

Luke adds, "Yeah, I’m a fan of Val’s. I didn't tell him, but who's not a fan of Val Kilmer? He's incredible. What you see is what you get."

And fans will be able to spy on the latest Kilmer creation when this thriller hits theatres early next year.
