Matt Damon
He's a super spy on the loose in Europe fighting to remember who he is and who's trying to kill him. Matt Damon is Jason Bourne in the big budget spy thriller "The Bourne Identity," based on the best selling novel.
A spy with amnesia, Bourne goes from a top government agent to their top target. Damon says, "He's very comfortable having a gun in his hand, either hand, upside down any single way."
Besides weapons training in the desert, Damon spent five months building muscle and shedding some baby fat. Matt says, "Before I went I was boxing one-and-a-half, two hours a day. I was weightlifting, and doing martial arts, and doing some running. So it was five or six hours a day."
To make sure Matt didn't cheat when he got home, the studio hired him a personal chef. He says, "It was a terrific luxury and was so worth it."
Damon needs to be fit because he's got competition from his Oscar buddy Ben Affleck, who stars as Jack Ryan in "The Sum of All Fears." So who would win if these two action heroes went head to head? Matt says, "Bourne. Ryan's an office guy you know."
Even while hunting box office success, Damon assures us there's only good will between them. He says, "We're both pulling for each other, believe me."
Action, espionage and romance, it’s a spy game Matt Damon was born to win.
