How the Stars Cut the Carbs
Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts, Nicole Kidman and Renée Zellweger are among Hollywood's hottest figures who are putting the kibosh on carbs. Lately, everyone has jumped onto the low-carb bandwagon -- but which diets do the star use?
Health magazine's Robin Vitetta-Miller says
the low-carb diet's been around for many years. "They are
really popular now because people are seeing tremendous success
on the low-carb diets."
Former Dallas Cowboy Troy Aikman found success with the South
Beach Diet, along with Bill and Hillary Clinton and
Nicole Kidman. "It worked for me, I've lost 10 pounds.
It’s been good," Aikman claims.
"Nicole Kidman's diet would kind of fall under more like the South Beach," Vitetta-Miller adds. "You have a nice balance of high-quality protein and complex carbs, and you are likely to stay with the diet for the rest of your life."
Another way to stay toned is to stay in The Zone.
Sean Astin, Jennifer Aniston, Sandra Bullock and Matthew Perry
are just some of the tinseltown heavyweights who use this diet
to stay light. "The Zone is pretty much great for everybody
because you're getting a good mix of carbs, protein and fat,"
Vitetta-Miller insists.
But it was Dr. Atkins who first started America’s hunger for
the low-carb diet -- and Americans like Vivica A. Fox and Stevie
Nicks love the Atkins Diet regime, where protein
is queen. "The benefit of the diet is you see immediate
weight loss and it kick starts a diet program," Vitetta-Miller
says.
Finally there's the Hampton's Diet, which combines
a low-carb diet approach with the Mediterranean Diet along with
a healthy dose of macadamia nut oil. Dr. Fred Pescatore, the
author of "The Hampton’s Diet: Diet Secrets of the Rich,
Famous and Thin," tells us the diet incorporates fruits
and vegetables, which a lot of the other low-carb diets don't
do.
So, if you want a fabulously fit figure, scale down those carbs
and get plenty of exercise.
