Big Night For Daytime
Daytime TV's biggest stars hit the red carpet for their huge night at the Daytime Emmy Awards at Radio City Music Hall this weekend, but the biggest news was the arrival of Martha Stewart, in one of her first major public outings since her conviction -- and she came straight to "Extra."
"It's so nice to be invited to the televised Emmys," Martha told us. "We've never been invited before."
Martha was nominated in the Service Show Host category, and she gave credit to her show staff, telling us: "We are thrilled to be here, just a few of the many fabulous people at work at Martha Stewart Fine Living Television -- the best."
Daytime darling Ellen DeGeneres was nominated for 12 Emmys, including best host, but she told us: "I'm not nervous, I'm excited. The show itself is the reward. We have fun every day and it's the best job I could ask for."
"All My Children" star Rebecca Budig showed up with "Bachelor" Bob Guiney and the two shared with us their big news -- their recent engagement. "Last night," Rebecca revealed.
Daytime's big evening was also about "who wore what." And Ellen made her fashion statement from the ground up, telling us, "Socks are important to me." And her socks certainly brought Ellen luck, because the comic came away with four statues, including one for Best Talk Show.
So how is she going to celebrate her big win? "I'm going to ride through the streets of New York in a cab, screaming at people," she told us
Martha Stewart lost out in the Host Category, but the big award for Best Drama went to "The Young and the Restless."
