'Deadliest Catch's' Captain Phil Harris Dies

Discovery Channel announced the death of Phil Harris on Tuesday evening. Harris was known as the captain of the crab fishing vessel Cornelia Maria on "Deadliest Catch." He suffered a stroke Jan. 30 while in port off-loading at St. Paul Island in Alaska. "He was more than someone on our television screen. Phil was a devoted father and loyal friend to all who knew him," the network said in a statement. "We will miss his straightforward honesty, wicked sense of humor and enormous heart. We share our tremendous sadness over this loss with the millions of viewers who followed Phil's every move. We send our thoughts and prayers to Phil's sons Josh and Jake and the Cornelia Marie crew." The captain's sons also released released a statement, saying, "It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our dad -- Captain Phil Harris. Dad has always been a fighter and continued to be until the end. For us and the crew, he was someone who never backed down. We will remember and celebrate that strength. Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers."

Former Reality Show Contestant Convicted of Murder

A jury found Jamal Rashead Trulove guilty of killing a man back in 2007. The 29-year-old appeared on VH1's "I Love New York 2" as a potential suitor for Tiffany "New York" Pollard. He went by the nickname "Milliown" on the show but only appeared on the first episode because he was dismissed for fighting. Singer Jennifer Hudson's fiancé David Otunga also appeared on the show. At last night's premiere of the new film "Valentine's Day," director Garry Marshall hinted to "Extra's" Mario Lopez about a possible "Laverne and Shirley" movie starring Jennifer Garner and Jessica Biel. "We're gonna work on that," Marshall said of the idea of doing a remake. "My sister Penny and Cindy are gonna have a guest cameo. They're gonna walk "schlemiel, schlemazel" -- or they're gonna get tired in the middle and sit down." Mario asked Garner if she would be down to star in the picture and she replied, "Are you kidding? We're dying to do it!" Then he asked the stars if they knew the show's famous theme song, and Jennifer replied, "We're gonna do it..." "And they do this. Dah, dah. Dah, dah. 'The Black List' is Back with Vol. 3

Photographer and filmmaker Timothy Greenfield-Sanders talked to Extratv.com about "The Black List: Vol. 3" and the HBO documentary's move to the classroom.

"The Black List: Vols. 1 and 2" feature a diverse group of people from the worlds of art, sports, politics, business and government. Over 50 people have been profiled, including Toni Morrison, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Sean "Diddy" Combs, Chris Rock, Tyler Perry and Maya Rudolph. In "The Black List: Vol. 3," Greenfield-Sanders and acclaimed journalist Elvis Mitchell teamed up again to learn about others, including "Precious" director Lee Daniels, musician John Legend and Whoopi Goldberg. Greenfield-Sanders says he wanted Goldberg on-board from the beginning. "Whoopi was someone who was on our list from day one. You can't make a list with great people without her," he confessed. While Greenfield-Sanders says he would love to see "The Black List" films in theaters, he thinks schools would be a better fit. He explained, "The real place is educational world. That's more realistic. This is something that can be used in an academic situation to teach." "The Black List's" creative team is currently working with Scholastic and the United Negro College Fund to create a curriculum and lesson plans for grades K-12. Greenfield-Sanders calls the three films in two years a "Herculean effort," and has some faces in mind for a future installment. "One person that's missing is Sidney Poitier," he says. "He's such a groundbreaking figure, a historic figure." No surprise here, Greenfield-Sanders would like to get President Obama and Michelle Obama too. "There are so many great people" he added. "The Black List: Vol 3" airs this month on HBO.

Actress and humanitarian Angelina Jolie met with Haitian earthquake victims relocated to the Dominican Republic, and will visit Haiti on Monday. The Goodwill Ambassador visited with earthquake survivors at the Dario Contrera Hospital in Santo Domingo. "She spoke with several children and a Haitian woman who recognized her and requested help," hospital spokesperson Dario Manon tells the Associated Press. Stage dad Joe Jackson sat down with Larry King after yesterday's hearing to discuss charges against Dr. Conrad Murray in connection with the death of his son, Michael Jackson. Joe Jackson tells King that Murray is just the "fall guy." That other people had to have been involved in Michael's death. Joe believes Murray got off too easy and that justice wasn't served. "I was looking for justice. And justice, to me, would be the murder charge." Brian Oxman, attorney for the Jackson family, was heartbroken by the charges. "This doctor is giving this drug -- this Propofol -- like it was some kind of Sleep-Eze -- or a pill for sleep. It is anesthesia," Oxman told King. "It's dangerous when you do it outside of a hospital and you don't have the resuscitation equipment; you don't have the necessary monitoring of the heartbeat and the pulse and the oxygen level in the body." Murray was booked yesterday and charged with involuntary manslaughter. He was released on $75,000 bail and is scheduled to be back in court on April 5th.
