Kimberly Locke Apologizes for 'Idol' Remarks
In a recent interview with Out.com, former "American Idol" contestant Kimberly Locke made some comments about her alma mater, especially with regard to Ford and Coke videos she did as a contestant.

Now, in a statement to "Extra," Locke would like to clear the air: "Recently, in an interview that I did with Out.com that also appeared on PerezHilton.com, I was quoted as saying that Ford and Coke "whored us [the contestants] out." I would like to apologize for my poor choice of words in that interview. I, in no way, shape, form or fashion, had any ill intentions. I understand that Ford and Coke are huge sponsors of the show and that affords every finalist -- myself included -- many wonderful opportunities. I have nothing but positive memories of 'Idol.' It was a great moment in my life that has opened many doors for me, ones that I may have never been able to walk through without the show. The last thing I want is to offend the 'American Idol' family or brand."
"I was on "Idol' 7 years ago and I have not once said anything negative about the show. In my opinion, 'American Idol' was the opportunity of a lifetime for me, and the way I feel about that will never change. I enjoyed every minute of it, even when I was filming the Ford commercials. When asked the question, 'What were the things about the show I didn't like?' my choice of words was not appropriate. What I was simply saying is that of all the things we were asked to do on 'Idol,' I enjoyed the actual performing and the rehearsal process more. I have no reason to bad mouth 'American Idol,' Coke, Ford, or ATT (or any other sponsor of this show). I was having a fun press day to promote my new single 'Strobelight,' and I obviously got a little too comfortable with this interview. If I upset or offended anyone in the 'Idol' family, I am truly sorry."
Locke is preparing her upcoming reality show, "Making the Curve," and is working with Randy Jackson's new label, Dream Merchant 21.

Kimberly is one of the most talented and most gracious American Idol. She always gives props to the show. And what she said is true— regardless of how she said it and she did it to poke fun not be disrespectful when she said whoring. NOBODY is shocked even my 10yr old daughter knows Idol is a business and Coke pays big to have their cup on the judges table. You dont see Letterman with a Pepsi cup-ha ha. Gimme me a break— already!!! You go Kim you supa fine peanutbutter caramel spiced cherry muffin !
