'FlashForward' Cancelled, 'V' Renewed

ABC has dropped one sci-fi, conspiracy-laden drama, but saved another.

FlashForward

The alphabet network cancelled "FlashForward" due to low ratings, but has renewed "V," the alien invasion remake of the '80s show.

Despite initially receiving positive reviews, "FlashForward," which follows a special FBI task force investigating people's flash-forwards caused by a global blackout, the show dropped from 12.47 million when it debuted in September to 4.77 million on the latest episode.

well that sucks! i just watched the first season. i couldn’t stop myself, i kept wanting to watch the next episode even before the one i was watching was over. awesome show…and those idiots go and cancel it. BRING FLASHFOWARD BACK!!!

I stumbled upon Flashforward on my Apple TV—streaming Netflix…I watched the entire Season in three days (thanks to insomnia)! What a fantastic, original show! I love all the characters and the intertwining plot lines—it’s just a really well done show. I just watched the final episode this morning, and now I feel like I do after I read a great book: now what? So when I read that FF got cancelled (despite all the rave reviews and awards) in order for V to be renewed—are they serious?! I watched V, but it’s not even in the same league as FF! The 4400 was a WAY better series than V if you want to compare alien-type shows vs. a well-constructed, thought-provoking show like Flashforward! I hope ABC will see these comments and BRING FF BACK!

Almost done watching season 1 on Netflix. Was looking forward to watching season 2. What ashame. Bring back FF.

My husband and I just finished season 1 of Flash Forward on netflix only to be extremely disappointed that it stops there. It was a great show and it’s a big bummer for all of us (still millions of people) who really enjoyed it that you canceled it! It was refreshing to have a sci-fi not centered around aliens. Please bring it back! The cast were fantastic and the whole story line was very intriguing.

I’m getting fed up with shows from the US getting cancelled before completing the story now. Recently I got into the Sarah Connor Chronicles which were okay, but they dropped it before finishing the story and then they did it to FF!! Even if they could make a one off 2 hour special to complete the story for fans who have put their time into watching the programme! TV viewing figures are not accurate, especially these days, as someone said above about internet TV. Many people watch things when they come out on DVD, or like me I sky plus (digitally record) programmes then watch at my convenience, so would that count in the ratings?
Next it’ll be The Walking Dead and Fringe!! If that happens I’ll stop watching imported TV shows!
Oh and I gave up on V way before the end of series 1. It was terrible; dull and cheap!!

We got this show quite late in the UK and could say that it was my replacement for lost.. From what I can understand ABC put this on at a stupid time plus had a hiatus in showing the series, errrrr that could be why the rating where low.. Plus how many people watch there TV now online “millions??” and I bet they do not count this as viewing public…

I really hope that another channel picks this up, and now we are well into post Lost im sure more fans will come onside if there was a season 2.. It really was to good to get pulled so early and was one of the most viewed programs “ever” in europe…

Of course they would cancel FF. They have to make room for ANOTHER police drama. Maybe they can have ANOTHER no brain hospital or reality show. FF is original and doesnt pull the mainstream ratings so it cant be any good. right? And while im here, bring back Jericho. Different network, same stupid decision to pull the show.

It’s a shame that ABC would continue
to promote a poor scifi remake like V and
pour money into trashy reality TV rather
than keep a well written drama like
Flash Forward. Their polls definitely didn’t pick up the 20+ people I know in my own family that enjoyed the show.
We’ll just move on to non network channels…

I am very disappointed to hear that this excellent show has been cancelled. It has so much potential for a second season and consider it in the same vein as other shows like Prison Break and 24 which have also sadly gone. At least those shows ran their course, Flash Forward has barely started. ABC bring it back!

this was a good show that needed more exposure it had more potential than v we know what happens in that show but flashforward was different than most other shows on tv these days and could of had a cult following like lost

Come On!!! Flash Forward was a fantastic series, we have to get a petition or something, right!! My wife and I always counted on Thursday nights, they can’t just leave us hanging on a cliff like this. Jeez..
