Brooke Burke Supports Kate Gosselin, 'Mother to Mother'

"Dancing with the Stars" co-host Brooke Burke is hoping contestant Kate Gosselin gets over her jitters and performs well.

"I know she's struggling," Burke told "Extra's" Mario Lopez. "But, mother to mother, I'm kind of wishing she could overcome her fear."

The mother of four also feels for Gosselin and all the recent media scrutiny over the reality TV star's parenting skills. "Eight kids, juggling and multi-tasking -- it's kind of frustrating as a mom when the public gets involved and they start dissecting things. I'm sure she's figuring it all out."

Burke has written a parenting book, "The Naked Mom," in which she discusses the ups and downs of being a working mom. "It's sort of motherhood revealed, and how I raised four kids and have a career."

And what about Burke's April Fool's tweet that she was pregnant with baby No. 5? Burke laughs, "I said, 'Come on, guys. Baby No. 5? Really? Do you think I'd go there?'"

She does offer some sage advice to Lopez, who will soon be a father. "I think you have to find your own way," Burke explains. "And I think you have to be really committed and confident in your decision, and figure out what works for you and your partner and your child."

Vienna is a terrible special correspondent. Just because you’re engaged (for now) to someone on DWTS doesn’t mean you’re going to be a good TV personality. Giving Vienna jobs in Hollywood is only going to make her think she’s actually famous. Extra is better than that! If anything, steal Melissa from ET! She’s great on TV!

No more Kate…She has no talent and ruins the show…Her 15 minutes of fame is over PLEASE….There are millions of working Moms in the world…Who do it with grace and dignity…Something Kate does not have…..I cannot believe people would buy the book she has coming out…This women has no talent and makes a living off her children…Good Bye Kate…

The only thing Kate Gosselin is good at is lying!! She’s a horrible dancer and none of us can understand how she’s still on the show. She says it’s because of her that the show does so well?? Get over yourself woman! You a phony, controlling, egotistical, fake person. You so do not deserve those children..everything you do is for yourself and only yourself. Fade away please, we don’t want to have to see you anymore.

Yeah, people are voting for Kate cuz we are all getting a laugh from her horrible dancing. What a shame though, she is so bad, they should actually ask her to leave but I guess the ratings are up so ABC wants the ratings more than their reputation. Money before anything else even though Kate is making a fool out of herself and DWTS.

I agree with Barb. No reason to feel sorry for Kate. She put herself into this mess; deciding to do DWTS to promote her new shows. If she has these new shows coming, money should not be an issue. Kate has more money than everyone realizes and she should be home with her kids. They are left with nannies way too much.
Kate is a selfish, guilty mother who IS NOT doing this for her kids. If she was so worried about her kids, she’d be with them during these post divorced months.

I agree with Carla, Kate is nothing but a controlling bi$%#! She even thought she was going to tell her dancing partner how to run the show but he soon set her straight, and she changed her tune real quick, but oh poor me I have 8 kids to support. She is a drama queen if there ever was one! From day one, she treated Jon like a dog, what man wants to be berated all day long, I don’t blame him one bit, he is the victim, who does she think she is? All she wants is to be a TV star which she really thinks she is, but who got her there, her 8 kids! WHILE she was with Jon all she did was travel all over the country and still is, she loves all the attention. She is pathetic trying to act like all she cares about are her kids, everything I hear is “my kids” She has most of the people fooled but not me! She is a control freak, very nasty! Oh and she can’t dance a bit,why are people voting for her, oh wait, they believe her pathetic, poor me story. Oh well

Why do people feel so sorry for Kate? She was such a b***h to Jon. Who could blame him for splitting. I really think the guy is getting a bum rap. What would they have done for an income if their show never took place? I mean really, she wants people to feel sorry for her but, she is a drama queen as I see it.

I think Kate’s doing a good job given her current situation..the haters must be stereotype Jonnies who just can’t handle a strong woman..these folks would rather have a sugar coated and candy dipped girl who’d please all their fantasies than a real person.While many Amercians would be sleazing/drinking/abusing,even in a divorce scenario,Kate’s staying put earning for the large family.Way to go girl.God bless.

I agree with Brooke, Kate is totally committed to her kids and always puts them first, it has to be hell with all she’s going through especially with her ex (Jon the Jerk) and everything, I think she is doing a great job, my bets still on her, shes strong and determined, she is going to be terrific.

I have a feeling she just had a slow start but watch out Kate is coming out
