'Idol' Picks Their Top 12

The "American Idol" contestants were narrowed down to the top 12 Thursday night, with contestants Katelyn Epperly, Todrick Hall, Alex Lambert and Lilly Scott sent home.

Epperly said she's "learned a ton," while Scott "didn't know what America wants to hear," but both felt confident they would make their mark in the music business.

Hall thought the experience was "crazy," especially when fans would come up and say they voted for him," and judge Ellen DeGeneres told Lambert that he was "so good" and to keep "believing in" himself.

See who was booted off last week.

The top 12 are: Aaron Kelly, Andrew Garcia, Casey James, Crystal Bowersox, Didi Benami, Katie Stevens, Lacey Brown, Lee Dewyze, Michael Lynche, Paige Miles, Siobhan Magnus, Tim Urban.

The final 12 will perform next week with the first big theme -- singing songs of the Rolling Stones.

Still waiting for Idol to acknowledge the petition to bring Alex Lambert back. He is my favorite.

Thats true: the comments of the jury is mostly rubbish. as what simon said about Kara’s comment. if I was one of the singers, I would ask them, if the jury knows what they are talking about. Because , this week they say that and the next week something different, even if you pick the right song.

Hello Big Mike, congratulation so far. Please remember to stay focused, remain friendly and stay prayed up. The further you get in the competition the challange will become greater. Take your time and remember it song choice, remember to engage the audiance as a entertainer and don’t be afaid to remind everyone to vote and that every vote counts, listen to judges opinion of you. Good or Bad be a listerner. We will see you at the victory party. See if you can squeeze some gospel in one of your performances. Oh yeah and some Anthony Hamilton or Jaheime will wooooo the audiance. Good Luck and remain Humble!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE IT TAKES ONE SECOND TO DO!

Hey guys!!! Will you please Google ” Save Better of Ted” and it should be the second link down at ” go petition” and you don’t have to register to sign it. It stars Ellen D’s wifey Portia de Rossi. It’s a great show, it just didn’t get a good time slot, or good promotion. Thanks so much!!!!!

I still can’t believe that Todrick and Lily got eliminated. They really added some refreshing and unusual dimension to the competition. Actually, I probably just answered my own thought - they’re not the typical cookie-cutter talent that seems to be what voters like. I hope we hear from both of them on their own. I picture Lily having a cool, indie-type album of mixed genres, and Todrick being the star of something like Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. He CERTAINLY deserves to be on a stage, singing and dancing (and looking fantastic!), AT LEAST as much as other A.I. alumni that’ve had the pleasure - jeez, HE’S infinitely better, IMO, than they are already!!!

well only 2 words left crystal and casey but is america really voting or is some one drawing a number in a highrise somewhere and we are just making these votes for no reason at all other than to feel like part of the show to keep watching and to keep the ratinggs up. good ratings equal more money from the people who who place the ads… more money for the people in the office building…less entertainment for us. there will never be another season like the rueben-clay season as thats when it truly felt real.

There are worse singers in the top 12 than the talented kids who were kicked off last night. That’s because of the judges’ misplaced critique of the performances. It’s a singing contest judges - not an assault on the kids’ confidence. I am tired of the same old comments. When they do not rearrange a song, you say “You did nothing with that song”, and when they do, you say “That song is a classic, you should not touch the arrangement”…HELLOOOOOO

Fed up with the judges

THE FEW THAT WERE KICKED OFF WAS UNBELIEVABLE, THE JUDGES SHOULD SOME KIND OF RIGHT TO VETO AMERICA’S VOTE THIS EARLY IN THE GAME. I BELIEVE THIS SHOW IS OVER….. WHEN SOME OF THESE CONTESTANTS GOT TO STAY AND OTHERS WHO SHOWED SO MUCH PROMISE HAVE TO LEAVE IT’S JUST RIDICULOUS.I’M NOT SURE IF I WILL EVEN CONTINUE TO WATCH THIS YEAR. I’M JUST SO DISGUSTED…

I am FURIOUS that Lilly didn’t make it!!!!!!!!! The Top 12 is incomplete without her. She was one of the most talented, unique, interesting contestants this season, and she’s not a finalist!!!!! That is every kind of WRONG!!!!!! What was America thinking?

I stopped watching Idol during the season when Daughtry was knocked off early. Now that Lilly got knocked off I am done for the season. This proves that the judges should be able to overrule the stupid people who vote. Unbelievable!!
