Sandra Bullock and Kate Winslet Fall into 'Oscar Curse'

Sandra Bullock has reportedly left Jesse James after an alleged affair rumor surfaced just 10 days after her Oscar win. Meanwhile, previous Best Actress winner Kate Winslet and her husband Sam Mendes called it quits on Monday.

Is there an Oscar relationship curse? Bullock and Winslet are not the first women to have received top Oscar honors and endure relationship endings within the same year.

Sandra Bullock left the Los Angeles home she shares with husband Jesse James shortly after winning the Oscar, amid rumors he had had an affair.

Bullock and James met in 2004 during a tour of the set of the James' Discovery Channel show, "Monster Garage." The couple married a year later.

Kate Winslet: Best Actress Winner 2009 for "The Reader"

Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes, who worked together on 2008's "Revolutionary Road," were married for seven years and have a 6-year-old son, Joe.

The couple announced their split in March, 2010.

The Oscars is an owned success not a fall. Jesse was the fall not the success. Sorry Sandra. I think she can do better than Jesse. She must be in pain and anger and I feel so bad that all that emotion is really for a man that do not deserve a tear. This are the time in life when I wish time should be gone fast so you can look back and say what was I thinking. I’m hurt too for her because I was so happy for her and I thought they were happy together :/

this story is just so sad……to watch her interviews and hear the things she had to say about jesse and how much she adored him and his children and how he gave her the confidence to just really be herself and never be afraid to fail because he loved her without question……imagine then to find this has happened to you….it must be shattering……jesse should be so ashamed of himself….how can he look in the mirror or face his children….i’m sure he is seeing now what a huge loss this is for him and over what? ya we’ve heard the old “didn’t think they were together anymore” excuse….but ultimately jesse needs to take full accountability….sandra, all the best, you are a beautiful and wonderful woman…..so many people are wishing you well through this horrible time

Why on earth would Sandra leave the home?
She should have thrown his clothes and possibly some other choice items out and changed all the locks. He was the one who cheated with some tattooed freak!
Most men are just stupid dogs! I think Sandy is a terrific lady and that jerk doesn’t appreciate her. Doesn’t she have a couple of homes in other places, one even here in Texas?
He is the adulterer and she should cut him loose and never look back.

I don’t believe that it’s really such a curse….i mean it is strange how it IS JUST HAPPENING TO WOMEN who win an oscar. But I also feel that it has nothing to do with the oscars that relationships go bad. It could be the couples themselves…or at least the unfaithful guy in the relationship. It does seem messed up because it’s as if women who are successful achieving an oscar has to pay the price by having their guy leave or do sumthing triffling. I know it cant all be true about the curse because Monique won an oscar, an SHE ain’t got no problems! People believe what they want to for their own satisfaction

I believe that winning an Oscar (or any important recognition of excellence or great success) is the absolute best way to learn the true character of one’s significant other (irrespective of gender.) If the significant other’s ego cannot handle it, he (or she) has revealed having significant character pathology. I hope the winner can eventually be glad it happened and continue being a winner!

Marriage is a commitment. Family is a commitment. Remember the vows that were taken. I believe that marriage is not easy, but there is not excuse for that kind of disrspect and especially for that length of time. It comes down to integrity, and apparently Jesse lacks it. I do hope his regret is sincere and wish the best for Sandra and her family.

This claim sends such a bad message to little girls. I’m amazed that you can suggest a woman’s professional success is a prime catalyst for the destruction of a relationship. Rather than blaming a woman’s success, perhaps you can highlight the character flaws that cause weak, egocentric people to cheat. P.S. There are plenty of professionally successful women with equally successful marriages and relationships.

On Sandra Bullock…Although I’ve been married almost 30 years, I think marriage is a fairy tale. Hardly ever do both parties remain monogomous, as they begin to take one another for granted and temptation is all around. I think MoniQue has the right idea. At least with an open marriage, no one gets “blind-sided”.

I really dont want to believe this, if its true then Jesse really is scum. Sandra is such a REAL woman and he obv. doesnt appreciate that. “BOMBSHELL” HA i think not, shes just a SKEEZ!
