Rielle Hunter Breaks Her Silence

In an interview with GQ magazine, the ex mistress of former presidential candidate John Edwards goes into detail about their affair, how his wife Elizabeth found out, and co-parenting their 2-year-old daughter.

Rielle Hunter describes their two-year affair as a "magnetic force field." She tells GQ about the first time they were intimate (which was also the first night they met), saying, "I had never experienced anything like what was flowing between us. I sat on the other side of the room. I wouldn't go near him," she says. "It was just this, this magnetic force field like I had never experienced. It terrified me. Absolutely terrified me."

Hunter was hired as a videographer for Edwards' 2008 presidential campaign and describes that as the moment that exposed her as his mistress. Hunter purchased a personal cellphone that looked just like Edwards' campaign phone in hopes of keeping their affair a secret, but Elizabeth found it during the campaign.

Although the ex-mistress says she feels "such compassion" for Elizabeth, who is battling breast cancer, she doesn't feel responsible for Edwards' failed marriage. "Infidelity doesn't happen in healthy marriages. The break in the marriage happens before the infidelity. And that break happened, you know, two and a half decades before I got there. So the home was wrecked already. I was not the home wrecker."

Edwards and his wife officially separated in January this year, but that doesn't mean Hunter will be getting her happily-ever-after ending. When asked if she sees her and Edwards being together, she said, "I have no idea... I do know that I will love him and that love is till death do us part, and probably beyond. We have a child together, so at the very least we will be co-parents together."

She uses such twisted logic to try to make herself sound reasonable. I can’t help but wonder if she is trying to convince herself more than anyone else that she has the tiniest bit of right on her side. Hunter is an opportunistic pig. She’s just trying to get her 15 minutes of fame and she’s getting it in the sleaziest way possible.

I am not watching anything that has this story or any of the others about the cheaters and their homewrecking bimbos. There are hundreds of other channels to watch instead.

I am happy that Elizabeth was able to move on with her life and live in peace. She is dealing with enough already and I can only imagine the pain she has been going through. The breakup and the Cancer, but I know God is with her. I pray that John and Rielle become better people from this and learn from what has happened. It’s easy to blame when you really aren’t in the situation.

Rielle - really trashy. John Edwards - wouldn’t vote for him as dog catcher. He will need to find a new career. Perhaps the two of them could make a porno flick. Elizabeth Edwards - thanks to Rielle she has now become a candidate for sainthood. All Elizabeth needs to do is wait and see how Rielle and John destroy themselves. ‘You’re hot’, isn’t that how whores work the bars to get laid and indeed she did exactly that. Worse, talking bad about Elizabeth who is clearly the victim reduces further Rielle when she bashes the cancer riddled mother of his four previous children whose already suffered the death of one son and gave birth into her 50s with the youngest 2 children. Elizabeth didn’t have them by herself so ‘Johnny’ of the John & Rielle fame, didn’t keep his pants on then either and probably not during the course of his entire marriage. Rielle and John are both rather self motivated sociopaths maybe? By the way, Rielle is deeply ugly and while she’s whining about the photos without her underwear, she never will look that good ever. When you show her closeups on TV in the same white pantless shirt, she’s still ugly inside and out.

The comment she made about it being Elizabeth Edwards’ fault the marriage was over made me sick. It takes two to make a marriage work. And shame on John Edwards for filling her ugly airhead with vile about his wife’s shortcomings just to justify his actions. They deserve each other.
