Elizabeth Edwards 'Relieved' After Husband's Confession

Elizabeth Edwards 'relieved' after John Edwards' confession

John Edwards' estranged wife Elizabeth says her family "feels relieved" after the former senator admitted to fathering a child outside of their marriage.

On Thursday, John announced he is the biological father of Rielle Hunter's daughter, Frances Quinn.

Elizabeth told the AP she believes John is also relieved to have admitted paternity. She said she hopes his admission will help end publicity around the Edwards family.

Elizabeth and John Edwards are currently separated, but she refused to talk about her marital status. "My marriage shouldn't be on anybody's radar screen except mine," Edwards answered.

Mrs. Edwards' cancer returned in early 2007. She disclosed that the cancer worsened, but recently improved.

I do not pity Elizabeth Edwards, I admire her. She has faced every public gossip hound with dignity and grace. She is taking care of business, and trying to move on with her life. Her children will have terrific respect for her. Elizabeth Edwards does not need nor deserve pity. She needs and has earned our respect. Her life is making a difference. There is absolutely no guarantee of life it is only temporary no matter what the circumstances. The proof of the pudding for anyone is how they handle their life from birth to death and what mark they make on society. Elizabeth Edwards has shown absolutelly no self-pity for her illness, no outward hatred of her “husband,” and is a terrific role model for all of us. If she departs this earth tomorrow, she made a difference and taught us how to act with total dignity. She is my hero.

I think ths poor woman has been through enough…She stood by Edwards on the campain trail…then fought cancer….she now has to face his infidelity…I think she should be admired and respected for trying to hold it all together…

Shameful…are these children out of wedlock to be badges of courage. Is that all you will ask forgiveness for? I think he should be asking God for forgiveness for cheating his other family and producing a child who has to learn her dads history of infidelity.
Real men start mentoring these lost souls. please.
