Tyler Perry Announces Mother's Death

Tyler Perry Announces Mother's Death

Tyler Perry turned to his website Tuesday to announce the death of his mother. Willie Maxine Perry was 64.

Maxine worked as pre-school teacher in New Orleans.

Perry, 40, simply posted his mother's full name, birth date and the date of her death with a photo of the two at the L.A. premiere of "Madea's Family Reunion" in 2006.

"Thank you for all your prayers," he wrote.

In October, the actor/director/producer opened up about his abusive childhood and revealed his mother also suffered abuse.

Mr. Tyler Perry, So sorry for your lost. I know it will be hard at times, especially when your use to visiting or talking on the phone with your mom. I lost my mom in July 2009, I miss her so. But she is in a great place and I know she is very very proud of her son. I would be. God is Great! Sincerely Ms. Patricia Milton/ Pre-K Teacher.

Tyler Perry,
Last night I watched the Barbara Walters 10 most interesting people. You spoke about how happy it made you to know that you provided for your mom what she had always wanted - to live like Mrs Chanselor. Have peace in you soul that she was probably and finally happy. I can’t imagine what it is like to loose your mom. I did lose my father 25 years ago - I still miss him. My prayers are with you. Peace.

DEAR TYLER : KNOW THIS THAT YOUR STRENGHT COMES FROM DEEP WITHIN. I LOST MY MOM BACK IN 1993,I STILL CAN RECALL THAT LAST DAY JUST AS IF IT WAS YESTERDAY. AS SHE PASSED BY ME ON HER WAY TO GLORY TO THE AMBULANCE THAT WAS WAITING . SHE HAD A GRAND SMILE ON HER FACE . THAT LET ME KNOW THAT PEACE IS WAITING FOR HER ON THE OTHER SIDE. I HOPE YOU KNOW THAT YOUR MOTHERS HAS PEACEFULLY ENTERED INTO REST. I HOLD ON TO THAT SMILE AND I DIG VERY DEEP INTO MY INNER BEING TO FIND THE STRENGT TO HOLD ON EACH AND EVERY DAY .AND YOU DO THE SAME. AND YOU WILL MAKE IT THROUGH THOSE HARD AND SOMETIMES LONELY DAYS FOR MOM.STAY ENCOURAGED TYLER.

Dearest Tyler,
I am truly sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. I two lost my Mom almost 3 years ago and it still hurts. I would advise you to seek counseling to deal with the pain and the lost. Somehow as time goes by you will only remember the wonderful relationship you shared with your Mom. God bless, I will be keeping you in my prayers.
