It started with 16 celebrities competing for the mirrored ball trophy, but Donny Osmond and Kym Johnson are the winners of the 9th season of "Dancing with the Stars"!

Donny Osmond wins Dancing with the Stars

After hearing the news, Osmond ran into the audience and grabbed wife Debbie Glenn from her seat and carried her to the dance floor. He later went back to grab sister Marie Osmond, who competed on the show in 2007.

Earlier in the program, Osmond, 51, earned first place and 30 points from the judges for his Argentine tango. He also performed "Puppy Love" while former contestants Louie Vito and Chelsie Hightower took the dance floor.

Osmond didn't get a chance to take the mic after he won, but second place finalist Mya said, "We are so happy to come this far. I had a broken foot last year and I'm just so happy to have made it to the finals."

Kelly Osbourne came in third place and was proud to be a part of "Dancing" too. She said, "It's been the most beautiful, amazing experience." She added, "The only thing I really want to say is thank you America. Thank you so much for voting me in each week."

The jam-packed finale also featured two performances from Whitney Houston and the former season 9 contestants all returned to the dance floor.

that’s so not true that Donny won because his family voted for him. Remember one thing, in the 70’s the Osmonds were a big hit with a lot of people I for one loved the Osmonds back then, and still do like them especially Donny

I AM GLAD OF WHO WAS IN THE FINAL AS I THOUGHT THEY ALL WERE GREAT AND I AM GLAD THAT DONNY OSMOND WON AS I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED THE OSMONDS BUT THE OTHER ONE I ROOTED FOR WAS KELLY AS SHE REALLY CHANGED DURING THIS SEASON AND SHE WAS A GREAT PERFORMER

It’s the same thing every year! The BEST dancer never wins. It’s a popularity contest. This years final should have been between Mya and Joanna. I am sooooo damn sick of the “Osmonds”.

This is a joke. Mya may not be the best-known celebrity, but you can’t ignore the fact that she was the best dancer. The judges practically handed it to Donny when they gave him all 10s for his unimpressive freestyle (which also pointed out all the flaws in his dancing) and the top spot in the final round. It was nothing but favoritism, and a landslide of votes from baby boomers who grew up with him. I did, too, but I still did the right thing and voted for the most talented dancer, and that is Mya.

Well donny only won because all his family voted for him remmeber there is like 100 of them osmond and all of them voted for him is just a family thing i guess.

I agree with Norman D. Mya was far better Than Donnie Osman I am not taking anything away from Donny you’re OK but you’re not Mya. It Happened before and it will happen again. just like it happened to Mr.Lopez

I think they gave the win to Donny because of his long time in show business not by his talent Mya was robbed she the better dancer, not Donny with his old self.Mya you’re the better star and dancer.

Yeah, Donny won! After making so much about his age, he showed them all with his usual grace how its done!

Congrats to Kelly! She really grew up with the show.

Also congrats to Mya. Being the favorite does have its downsides. You did a fantastic job, Girl!
