Oprah Winfrey is saying goodbye to her talk show. Could Paula Abdul replace her?

"I have really great ideas," Abdul told "Extra" Monday from her cousin's new store, This opens new window:
Tweak 99. Abdul, 47, said she hopes to do a talk show in the next two to three years.

"It would be fun and quirky and it would be insightful," she said. "It would be fun to jam with the band and have amazing guests and introduce amazing different formats on the show."

The Grammy winner is confident in the potential project.

"I feel I would be really good at it. I have the ability to connect with people on a level," Abdul explained. "I've proven to pierce the heartstrings, but also to be celebratory and bring out the best in people."

Abdul respects Winfrey and calls her a "phenomenon" who "broke barriers and let the path for other women to be empowered."

She added, "Like 'American Idol,' there's a place and time that makes history. That's Oprah."

Aaaa I can’t decide about her because i keep readin all these peoples posts. now i jusr read Barsinger and i think they are right I WANT PAULA TO GO TO AMERICAN IDOL AND BE A JUDGE AGAIN. but i don’t know if she’ll do it because they were really mean to her and that’s why she left in the first place cuz they always wanna treat girls worse than guys. i really miss her judging on Idol and i never liked it when they added Kara. it’s too much. i don’t understand Ellen on the show. I understand Ellen on her funny talk show and she dances and it’s fun but I don’t understand her on Idol. sorry guys.

To w: I like how you want paula to be on Xfactor cuz I think she should be on that show too cuz she would make it a superhit but how does she do it all? she was on american idol and doing a ton of other stuff, and now she should be on x factor and do a talk show! she’d be juggling a ton o’ stuff but she could totally do it with that cute little smile of hers. she’s so positive it’s so awesome.

yeah it’s paula’s funny loopy sweetheart kinda way she is that would make her a perfect talk show host. to me all the talk show hosts are kinda the same, especially the nightime ones. they sit at their desks and i dunno it’s like they all act the same, but i don’t think paula would do that. ellen’s pretty different and paula would totally be different too cuz she’s got so much personality and i think she’d tell a lotta good stories and get good stories from a lotta people. lol she’d probably give ellen degenerest a pretty good run for her money! ha ha ha ha, FRIENDLY competition i mean. i really like paula tho.

To Sirius: Awesome & Unexpected are totally perfect words to describe Paula Abdul, she just keeps it moving and bein on TV and stuff because she’s awesome and she does the unexpected. She doesn’t let people stick her in a category or if they do she doesn’t care! if people wanna say hater stuff about her she’s always positive she’s just like WHATEVER to those guys!

No talk show, Paula. GO BACK TO IDOL!!!! It’s where you belong. Every day I wait for the news that Paula changed her mind, worked out a deal with Fox, and will be back on Idol TO STAY in time for the live shows.

Awesome! Unexpected though. Never imagined Abdul as a talk show host before. I’m sure her show would be amusing and quirky! not to mention loopy. But isn’t that why people seem to love Paula! hahaha
all the luck for her! I can’t wait to see what she comes up with.

At least Paula is entertaining to watch. Oprah is not. Paula is charming and funny, Oprah is fake and not very charming and definitely not funny.
