Oprah Cries While Announcing Decision to Quit Show

Oprah Winfrey

Oprah Winfrey gets emotional on her talk show Friday while explaining to her audience why she decided to step down after 25 seasons on the air.

"Over the next couple of days you may hear a lot of speculation," she tells her studio audience. "I wanted you to hear this directly from me."

Breaking down into tears, Oprah says, "Our viewers have enriched my life beyond all measure. You all have graciously invited me into your living rooms, into your kitchens and into your lives. And for some of you longtime Oprah viewers you have literally grown up with me, we've grown together.

"These years with you, my viewers, have been a blessing... I want you all to know that my relationship with you is one that I hold very dear... and has brought me the greatest joy I have ever known."

"Why walk away?" she continues. "Here is the real reason -- I love this show, this show has been my life. And I love it enough to know when it's time to say goodbye."

She calls now "the exact right time" to leave.

"The countdown to the end of 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' starts now, and until that day in 2011, when it ends, I intend to soak up every meaningful, joyful moment with you."

Oprah is launching a television network, OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network, in partnership with Discovery Communications.

WHY ALL THE NEGATIVITY ? IS IT REALLY THAT SERIOUS. THE WOMAN MADE IT TO BE FAMOUS (HER CALLING, HER BLESSING). ANYONE OF US COULD’VE BEEN IN THE SAME BOAT, SO WHATS REALLY THE PROBLEM. I SEE RACISM STILL EXIST AND WILL NEVER DIE WITHIN SOME INDIVIDUALS (SOOO SAD).
LET IT BE, BECAUSE IF IT WASNT OPRAH IT WOULD BE SOMEONE ELSE. THEY TALK ABOUT JESUS CHRIST SO WHAT!!!!!!!

I am absolutely shocked and appalled by the things I’ve read in conjunction with Oprah’s retirement. The name calling and the clear and blatant racists sentiments makes me realize how things have NOT changed at all, and that the only difference between now and the days of lynching blacks is that you have to hide it. It’s so sad that we can’t evolve beyond judging people by their skin color. If you don’t like Oprah that’s fine, but there is no need for name calling and outright ludicrous hostility for someone who, like it or not, has inspired alot of people.

I did see 1 little tear in her eye, and that had to be forced. And poor thing, that poor lip quiver. TOO fake. Knew what she was doing, now we will have to deal with this count down every day, until it is finally over. She played this down to the end.

It’s a joyful day in media to hear that this porker is closing down shop before she gets any larger!! She’s served her purpose in aiding the election of the nations new messiah/marxist/radical… and we all know she backed him merely because he is BLACK!! He has ZERO experience for the job of President, and it’s not only beginning to show, the country is nauseated with his “leadership administration” of tax evaders, and America haters!

She will now focus on all her pet projects of those SLAVES she OWNS.. Dr. Phil, Dr. Oz, Rachael Ray… (seeing a pattern here?).. And let’s not forget her responsibilities of the school for Oprah wanna-bes in africa?? Her OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network) will continue it’s bias, racist rants and she’ll be there in the background with her millions turning America and it’s brainless wonderers, in the direction she alone believes they SHOULD be going!

So long you fatzz bigot racist… I only present the truth as I see it.

she's done..

Oprah has been around for a long time but if she chooses to retire I think everyone should respect and understand that , of course TV won’t be the same without her.

I watched many Oprah shows. I get her magazine. But the media is acting like she said she was leaving today…it’s not until 2011. Are we going to listen to this for the next year and half?
