Larry David's Surprising DNA Test on 'Lopez Tonight'
"Curb Your Enthusiasm" jokester Larry David took a DNA test on "Lopez Tonight" and found out the results in front of the studio audience.
George Lopez surprised David when he announced the comedian is 63% European and 37% Native American.
David asked, "What do you mean? I'm a Comanche? I'm in the Iroquoi tribe?"
Lopez responded, "You're a member of two tribes. You're Jewish and you're Native American!"

I know this is old news, but I will comment anyway.
RAN, it has NOTHING to do with “central Asian markers”. It has everything to do with inappropriate reference groups.
The thing is, that if there’s any kind of population which was not included in the establishing of “markers” they can have any kind of marker (the nucleotide pair can be any of four variations).
By their methodology, every person will test 100%. This means that for every person tested who does not belong to any of the reference groups used, that person will still test 100% in the test, but he may not even belong to any of the groupings. He will, however, test as belonging to the groups, but it will be wrong, of course.
This is a well known phenomenon for some Middle Eastern groups,d some East African groups and others, which means that their results cannot be used - only the groups who are represented by the initial data can be tested with some accuracy.
There are, in fact, no such thing as “racial markers” in genetics.
I’m a bit puzzled why there is no real uproar against these tests from geneticists, as the tests are like snake oil, they are often meaningless. There has been some talk, but not as much as there should be.
