Adam Lambert's 'GMA' Performance Called Off

adam lambert

Adam Lambert's Wednesday "Good Morning America" performance has been called off.

"Given his controversial American Music Awards performance, we were concerned about airing a similar concert so early in the morning," an ABC rep said in a statement.

Instead, the "American Idol" runner-up will appear on the CBS "Early Show" Wednesday morning, he revealed on his Web site.

At Sunday night's AMAs, Lambert simulated oral sex, flipped the bird and kissed a male band member while singing his newest single, "For Your Entertainment."

ABC said they received 1,500 complaints.

Lambert, 27, told "Extra," "Anybody who feels uncomfortable with it... then maybe I'm not for you."

I have a feeling there's probably going to be some people who feel a little uncomfortable with the performance, but my intention was not to offend, but to promote the spirit of rock and roll," added Lambert.

Seriously it is the year 2009 things need to change. I have seen way worse performances than that. Nothing is ever going to change if people keep giving into the close minded people who send in the complaints. For me this does not look good for ABC, they just seem like pushovers.

Adam’s performance was no worse than past Prince performances or MJ. Also, did anyone notice the excessive pelvic thrusts during Shakira?

Give me a break people, if this had been a man and a woman, no one would have though twice about it…and if it had been two women, some red neck straight guys would think it was hot and sit there, whack off, and not another word would have been said about it. Blatant homophobia!!!

Iloved Adam on Idol and still do—I do think his performance was over the top—but so was Lady GaGa (she had a nude looking outfit on) at least adam was dressed! Look at all the past perfomers who did outlandish things then they became the fad!(ELVIS!) And least we forget Micheal’s Crotch grabbing! I think Adam will end up being just as great—but I do think he should concentrate on his amazing vocals (His Mad World performance was AMAZING!!) At least he got to perform—where was Kris Allen?? I think next year Adam will be receiving awards and everyone will eat their bad words about him!!!Give him a break!!!

I believe Adam is very talented but he has no clue as to how many people he offended. Shameless. Classless. What a waste of talent if he is going to continue acting out in this way on network TV. I’m sure his parents are extremely proud of this performance… though I’m guessing maybe not. He appeared on a network primetime TV show and families with many ages were watching and he did not need to do what he did. Yes this is America and he has freedom of speech but come on, learn to have some class and be an example for anyone wanting to be just like you. I shudder to think of how many people are going to act just like Adam in public.

A VERY SAD DAY FOR ENTERTAINMENT.NO WONDER IT TOOK SO LONG FOR HIM TO BE RECOGNIZED.MAYBE HE SHOULD HAVE GIVEN THAT PERFORMANCE DURING AMERICAN IDOL AND I’M SURE HE WOULD NOT HAVE REACHED SO FAR IN THE COMPETITION.WHAT HAVE WE UNLEASHED ON OUR YOUTHS.

I think Adam is handsome and talented but rocking the boat is not going to make him very popular. I don’t want to see two women or two men acting like he did sun. night. All that talent and that is what he offers to America, shame Adam, you can do so much better. I know you can be a very likeable person but this is not a way to win fans other then the gay community.

RE: Adam Lambert

I am a huge fan of Adam Lambert but was completely disappointed with his performance at the AMA Awards. Not only did he probably loose a lot of his fan base and future requests for performances but, he cheapened the classiness of the AMA Awards.

What must be remembered here by Adam is that he has a world wide fan base which before the AMA Awards consisted of both young and old. Why should anyone need to classify the AMA awards as X rated or with a rating that their children can not see, or, any of Adam’s performances for that matter.

Adam has a huge young fan base and I certainly would not want myself, children or any family member or friends see a performance like that one performed by Adam! It was actually very sad to see!

We are fans of entertainment not disgust and disappointment. And, it saddens me that Adam performed to a national audience such a pornographic and offence performance.

I do not care that Adam is gay but appropriateness and classiness in public and on national TV is always a must or, your career will certainly be short lived.

As much as I don’t care about a marketed-idol hack like Mr. Lambert, you people need to lighten up. First of all, it’s an award show, so you shouldn’t be expecting quality entertainment. Second, you know he’s a flamboyant gay man. Third, you have all those buttons on your remote for a reason. Don’t like what you see, press one of them and you don’t have to look at it.

Not that I would have watched something like this. Not trying to be smug, it just isn’t my cup of tea. Sure, maybe it was without taste, as I imagine the BJ maneuver to be, but again, please refer to point 3 as stated above.

To be honest, it’s both sad and funny to watch all of you old timers with your closet homophobia and suppressed sexuality gradually and helplessly losing your grip on society. He didn’t hurt anybody. Not a single person. In fact, nobody will care about this next week. Stuff costs more than it used to. Young people use swear words!

Welcome to Earf.

The “Spirit of Rock and Roll”? You have got to be kidding. You sullied the “spirit” and I wish fans on Idol had known your true-self and I can pretty much say, most of them would not have voted for you. Thank God I didn’t. You are stinking up our great youths.

I was one of Adam Lambert’s fans on idol. He should have used this opportunity to show his true talent not his bedroom antics. I thought it was wrong for Madona and it was wrong for Adam. Too often we take advantage of the freedoms we have in the USA. This is what our soldiers are fighting for? I am so disappointed and will not watch or listen to Adam from here on out.

Sorry, Adam was wrong/ He just blew his carrer before it even started… I was disgusted by the whole AMA and abc should censor what it puts on the air…As far as CBS picking him up for the early show…. I hope that their ratings stink. I am so glad that my children are grown, but they still know that this world has gone to far….

I thought is was awful.I’t was more of a X rated broadway show than anything. That wasn’t music. If he wants to be a Queer than be one in his private life, not on a show that has good clean people watching. What was he doing on there anyways what about the guy who won American Idol shouldn’t he have been on the show!!!!There was alot of poor performance the show didn’t do much for be.

My teenage daughter told me she wrote into ABC complaining about the performance because Adam Lambert was so offensive. My teenage daughter! I’m so proud there are still a few young people in this country that find that kind of behavior offensive. Shame on him.

It was a very poor decision, he is trying to be a star but that is not the way to become one. By now he is probably regreting it and for sure is not going to make it as a star now, all the hard work for nothing. Lost it all in seconds and that is all it takes.

I can’t believe that idiot placed himself in the same category with Madonna and Brittney. They already have a career, he is trying to get one. Why not be original and stop copying “GIRLS”. Adam they have one, you want one. You figure that out!
