Adam Lambert Speaks Out on Sexy AMA Performance

Adam Lambert on his sex-charged AMA performance

Adam Lambert's performances on "American Idol" were shocking, but not as jaw dropping as his American Music Award debut on Sunday night.

Lambert tells "Extra," "Anybody who feels uncomfortable with it... then maybe I'm not for you."

Lambert sported a spiky and sparkly blazer and sang his single, "For Your Entertainment." He provided the audience with a spectacle; leashed dancers, a same-sex kiss, simulated oral sex, crotch grabs and flashing the middle finger. The act was so suggestive, it was censored for the west coast feed. ABC says more than 1,500 people called to complain.

"If it's gonna be edited, then in a way, that's discrimination. I don't mean to get political, but Madonna, Britney and Christina weren't edited," Lambert told the L.A. Times.

When "Extra's" Lauren Sanchez asked Lambert, 27, what he was thinking about during his performance, the singer flippantly said, "I think it was pretty obvious."

Lambert said he had no intention of offending people. He explained, "I have a feeling there's probably going to be some people who feel a little uncomfortable with the performance, but my intention was not to offend, but to promote the spirit of rock and roll."

"Extra" wants to know: Did Lambert's performance go too far?

Adam is a true talent and anyone saying otherwise is blind.

On the other hand, his talent has nothing to do with his personality. If you like both you are a fan if you dont then at least say you dont like how he acts dont try to bring down his music talent because that just tells me you are incapable of recognizing a good thing.

Adam, I am happy you are so open about who you are and truly those that dont want to see it can always switch the chanel (that is what I do when something is hate comes on…)

Adam rock on and dont let corporate drones and small minded empty people change you. You are one of a kind!

One very sad thing about this whole situation is that it has brought out the homophobic, anti-gay haters all over the net. You people saying horrible nasty things about Adam who think you’re better then him are seriously mistaken. Adam is a genuine, kind human being with great artistic talent and loving spirit of the heart.

Hate to say, His Screetchy voice, and over shooting tone has got old. His performance SUCKED, and it appears for someone trying to kick off his carrer, he has took the wrong track. The guy can sing, and this has nothing to do with him being Gay, (I could care less), but this was on public TV, and kid’s watch these awards too!Sorry Adam..Your a Sick pup, and won’t get any support from me. And from the looks of the other comments, I’m not the only one in this boat too!

Controversy, shock value, and desperation for attention is obviously what this PERV is all about!

As if his performance wasn’t disgusting enough, he adds insult to injury by pulling out the ole’ discrimination card?? Get over yourself Adam, you’re certainly NOT all that! We get it, ..and have gotten it for some time now… YOU’RE GAY!! That certainly isn’t the issue, the ISSUE is what you’re doing with your gayness. The over-kill of showing America your FLAMING GAYNESS is what has taken you down to less than mediokre..

When you find it “art” to stick your tongue in another mans mouth, and shove your crotch in another guys face,… it truly shows zero artistic value!! Perhaps this “routine” of yours could have sold in a gay bar with a drag queen performance? But certainly not to those of us whom appreciate MUSIC!? It screams I want attention, I need attention, and I want to shock people enough to be famous??

How’s that workin’ for ya?

Adam, the next Kanye West!

All of the women on here are dogging him and concerned about there kids seeing stuff like this all of a sudden..where were their voices the last 10 yrs when britney and bi girl katy perry have been doing this in front of the kids and porn lyrics all over the radio. can you say double standard? he rocked and shocked and its a sexy song and he put on a great performance..get over it.

When I saw the performance, I just thought, “OH NO!” It’s too bad. Adam has so much talent, but it wasn’t displayed with that performance. What a disappointment. Why can’t performers be happy just singing great songs? Nobody needs this “in your face” anything goes sexual stuff anymore, whether it’s from Britny or whoever.

I have a son who is gay and I love him dearly, so my comments are NOT ANTI GAY. I love Adam Lambert, loved him from the get go, loved him on American Idol…love his new song… but, he was way out of line on The American Music Awards. Children do watch the award, and I believe there is a time and place for the suggestive actions he did on the show (save them for your own shows). We are trying to teach our children to be resposible adults, they can also be responsible gay adults without sticking it in the face of millions of people. I think he may have lost some fans, and his attitude shows he doesn’t care. Adam your fans brought you to where you are..you need torespect them, all of them.

I don’t know who Adam’s manager is, but if they tried to discourage Adam from doing this, he should have listened. If they didn’t, he should look for new management.

Adam says if this doesn’t appeal to you, then maybe I am not for you. If this is the real him that he wants to put out there, I think Adam is going to have a chance to see just how few people he really does appeal to.

Here’s a song for ya -
Another One Bites the Dust.

Please - it’s not about hating Adam. I didn’t like the song, or the tongue wagging way he sung it. I don’t hate him, I just didn’t like the performance. And I really didn’t like the message of the song.

People liked what they saw and heard on idol. He definitely did a bait and switch, and disappointed a lot of potential record buyers.

Won’t support this, Adam. Not no way - not no how. Done, fini, over.
You blew it.

Get a hair cut. I think you had every intention of offending anyone you could. You just love the attention and it was very uncomfortable. You know nothing about rock and roll.

It’s not about hate & war or being gay.

It’s about children and anyone who might find this in bad taste. Who cares if your gay. If and I say if you have talent you would not have to act like a no talent fool. You can not sing
you just scream.

No one is hating Demi, we were asked what we thought of his performance. The raunchiness of it obviously appealed to you and that’s fine, but for the most part, people were disgusted by it.

So far we can still speak freely in this country, and what he did on stage was unacceptable to the majority watching. If you want to buy a tkt to see him do that, go for it, but the leather S&M thing’s not my idea of great MUSIC.

controversy… so that what he wants to be famous for??? AL has a great voice… now he has made himself repulsive. What a way to thank his fans from American idol who voted for his voice and nice guy attitude only to be duped by someone who was holding back all of this raunchiness. My kids really liked him, voted for him, downloaded all of his songs… he lured them in and now look what he’s doing? What a slap. What a disappointment. He should be ashamed for selling his voice for raunchiness. He really could have made it big. What a fake. What a lousy role model.

Get over yourself Adam! Sticking your tongue in someone’s mouth is creative? I sure don’t want my kids learning from your example of “art”.
