Adam Lambert Got 'Carried Away' at AMAs

Adam Lambert didn't make out with guys or simulate oral sex on his Wednesday morning performance on the CBS "Early Show."

"Parents, this is appropriate, I promise," the "American Idol" runner-up announced before taking the stage.

He also spoke a little more about his American Music Awards performance, which was so controversial, "Good Morning America" canceled a scheduled appearance.

"I admit I did get carried away, but I don't see anything wrong with it," he said. He said his sexual acts "came from more of an impromptu place. ABC was taken by surprise."

Lambert says he's held to a double standard because he's gay and a man.

"It's a double whammy," he said.

But if he had to do it all over again?

"I would sing it a little better," Lambert joked. "It wasn't my best vocal performance."

I love Adam Lambert. I voted for him over and over on American Idol and I could care less if he is gay, my son was gay but I don’t think the way to make yourself sell CD’s or become famous is to “cram” your sexual preferences down the public’s throats. I didn’t like the song, felt it was poor quality and the antics were over the top, male or female..I did think he did a great job of covering his fall and never missed a beat of an awful song. I just want him to exhibit the showmanship that he had on AI and perform for all of us, straight or gay, he was a hit on AI, why not take it to another level. Remember, its the mystery of who you are that keeps people watching, male or female. I will give Adam another chance and hope that in the future he is just himself and remembers we loved him on AI and we love him in the future. Personal life is personal, not to be shared with the media.

What was the big deal? I do see the double standard. If you rewatch the AMAs you’d see so much of what the other artists did and how Adam is being made an example of. I see guy on guy on TV as well as girl on girl. It is not after 1000 pm and it is on the regularly tv networks like ABC, CBS, FOX. Check out Desperate Housewives, Supernatural, Heroes. People get over it. Adam did nothing different or wrong and if people want artist to start apologizing they’d better begin by calling out Janet Jackson. I’m glad Adam didn’t back down and didn’t apologize. Love his CD by the way great vocals.

I’m afraid of the future of this country with so many people replying here who are pulling for someone like Adam. He displayed his talent on the AI show, but he lacks class, he does not care who he offends, and I won’t be supporting him by buying anything he does since he does not care that he offended me and thousands of others. It’s not about a double standard of being gay or straight, if anyone else did the same things on a network primetime show, there would be controversy. It’s NOT about his sexuality, it’s about RESPECTING the people around you and who look up to you for whatever reason and doing the right thing. He says to turn the TV off the next time, that is fine with me and I won’t be wasting my time or money on someone that does not show respect. To have respect you need to show respect.

As usually people (as well as Adam) are too ignorant to get the point. It was his act as a WHOLE that was inappropriate and disgusting. I could care less that he is gay or that he kissed the guy. That was NOT what was disgusting and inappropriate. His double standard bull does not hold. It has nothing to do about you being gay, Adam, it’s the way you act!! Grow up!!

Absolutely and Completely inappropriate for tv. if he does that on his own, fine, but WE dont need nor want to see that on TV. I refuse to support that course of action, and many if not all my friends share my view. He has a good voice, but his actions will not only prohibit selling his music but they will repel people from buying it.

Jessica- I totally agree. While I think that Adam Lambert’s performance, heck the song for that matter, was risque, it’s pretty much at the same level with everything else on tv. I could name at least 10 tv shows that have used lesbian plotlines as a stunt to pull in viewers during sweeps month. In fact, the most recent one I have seen do this is Heroes. No one complains about this. I wonder why? lol

Thank God,Good Morning America had the sense to cancelled Adam’s performance.I was never so disgusted when I watched AMA the other night when Adam did his number. I will never buy his cd nor watch anything on television with him on it. Hope the rest of America does the same..
