ESPN Fires Steve Phillips for Affair

steve phillips fired

Steve Phillips, the baseball analyst whose affair with a production assistant has been splashed across gossip pages for a week, has been fired.

"Steve Phillips is no longer working for ESPN," spokesman Josh Krulewitz said in a statement. "His ability to be an effective representative for ESPN has been significantly and irreparably damaged, and it became evident it was time to part ways."

Last Wednesday, Phillips admitted to sleeping with 22-year-old P.A. Brooke Hundley. According to police reports, Hundley began contacting Steve's family after Phillips broke things off -- taunting his wife Marni over the phone, detailing her sexual relationship with Steve in a graphic letter, and even befriending Phillips' 16-year-old son on Facebook.

Marni called police when she found Hundley in the driveway. The Phillips family has decided not to press charges against the scorned production assistant.

UPDATE: ESPN has revealed that Hundley no longer works for the company, but declined to say whether or not she was fired.

Why did he have to get fired? What did he’s personal life have to do with he’s job at ESPN, unless they used that to get rid of him. They probably wanted to fire him from the start and used his personal life as a method. ESPN could have laughed that one off amongst themselves Dirty real dirty.

I wonder how many people believe it’s an excuse believe so merely because they cannot relate. The other side of this coin is every bit just as destructive to lives/marriages.

Mr. Phillips, I have to tell you that as a woman , if I was your wife I would be mad, really mad, not just because of your cheating but because if you are going to cheat, at least cheat with a woman better looking than your wife. Hell, this girl could not be worse looking.
And please for all those that defend this 22 year old parazyte, just think about what she did. She goes to his wife’s home and threatens her and her children. Doesn’t this behavior remind of somebody like Amy …the girl from the Buttafuoco case? She should be arrested because a 22 year old stupid already knows what she is doing.

I think that ll of the cheaters should be taken to task, not only the celebrities but politicians also. Why is that when these celebrity cheaters are interviewed on talk shows are on Et or Extra, they are treated like the victim? The real victims are those wives and children of the cheaters.

Seems strange that a sports news analyst, or whatever he is, is being fired for infidelity. I am not able to understand that the same thing can happen in the White House with a sitting President and they are not even censured much less fired.
