Sandra Bullock: I Was Too Selfish to Have Kids

Sandra Bullock became a stepmom when she married Jesse James -- and the actress says 5-year-old Sunny has shown her what "real life" is about.
"I seemed to have stepped in right when I needed to be there," Bullock tells Parade magazine. "If you don't have kids and animals, you don't truly know what real life is about."
Bullock and James married in 2005 when she was 39. "I was good at bolting before," the actress admits. "I didn't want to do the work. And I was too selfish to have kids. Now I work at what I love."
"The Proposal" star also reveals marriage wasn't at the top of her to-do-list. "I didn't grow up thinking, 'I'm gonna get married and have someone take care of me,'" Bullock says. "I always wanted to be happy, have a good time, work hard."

Sandra, you are not selfish, you are
such a tremendous career woman, but it
is not too late to have a child. My
Mom had me at 42! I am the last of 8
children in my family. My Mom was the
best, she was so caring and understanding and had more patience at
her age and I was spoiled rotten!
I saw the Blindside and your performance
was outstanding! You are a great actress! Keep up the good work!
