Michael Vick: From Dog Brutality to Reality

michael vick reality tv show bet

NFL star Michael Vick, fresh from serving 18 months in prison, will star in a new reality show title "The Michael Vick Project."

Vick, who served time for running an interstate dog fighting ring, tells the L.A. Times blog, "I just want people to really get to know me as an individual. What I want to do is change the perception of me. I am a human being. I've made some mistakes in the past, and I wish it had never happened. But it's not about how you fall, but about how you pick yourself up."

"The Michael Vick Project" will air on BET, and is said to focus on Vick's controversial comeback with the Philadelphia Eagles -- and will shed light on Michael's past troubles.

I, for one, don’t like it! While I do believe in 2nd chances, something the Eagles are giving Vick, I don’t believe in rewarding such vile behavior with a TV show! Atleast, with the Eagles Vick has to prove himself and he’s got Andy to answer too!

The TV gig just seems like a free pass on the money train for someone who tortured dogs for cash…..UNBELIEVABLE!!!

MTV owns BET. So ultimately MTV gave him a show.

Bottom line people move on. He served his time and is still serving time through the public’s perception of him. Pedophiles get less time and get a job back as soon as they get out of prison. The list goes on and on for people that actually do horrible things to other humans and their lives go on in a matter of months unlike their victims.

We should really be working to get John & Kate crap off TV and every internet site.

He is part of something that horrible and he went to jail for 18 months, which is suitable for the crime, but he gets his “job” back and he gets a tv show. Why? Not saying he shouldn’t be able to get his job back but this quick. And the problem I have is he is rewarded with a tv show so he can show us the real him. How much more real can you get from arrested for dog fighting. What is this teaching the next generation about doing the right thing? Nothing slap on the wrist, a back to work pat on the back, and a tv show is all you need to “show the real you” and people will forget. That’s what it teaches them. At least to me it does. I’m sorry but that’s what I think and to me that’s messed up.

The only reality he deserves is the reality of cleaning up the messes people like him make. Let him clean shelters and pick up the dead bodies after dogs are discarded from fighting. THAT is what his “second chance” should be.

What a shock that it is going to be aired on BET!! I love the fact that he just wants people to get to know him!! Let your actions speak loudly for you.

Will there be no end to glorifying this pathetic sociopath? I’ve given up being a lifelong fan of the Eagles & the NFL entirely. Now, I guess I should just toss the TV in the trash.

I think that Michael Vick making money off the wrongs he’s done in his life is disgusting. He knew what he was doing with his dogs. Those dogs were living beings. I won’t be watching this show and I will be telling anyone who will listen not to watch.
