Bachelor: Fiancee Gave Up TV for Me

Jason Mesnick was lucky to have his choice of 25 beautiful women on "The Bachelor," but an offer to make Molly Melaney the new "Bachelorette" made him rethink his feelings for the runner-up.

Mesnick, 33, tells the new issue of Us Weekly that a week after Mesnick popped the question to his first choice, Melissa Rycroft, producers of the show "kept asking me if I thought Molly would make a good 'Bachelorette'."

It took visualizing a pool of eligible bachelors fighting over Melaney, 25, to make Mesnick rethink his decision about putting a ring on Rycroft's finger. He infamously dumped her on live TV during the "After the Rose" special, although he swears they actually broke up in public about a month earlier.

"I realized I was not willing to let Molly go on TV and have 25 guys fight over her," he says.

As for Rycroft, he says: "Melissa is a great girl, but there wasn't any chemistry. So I broke up with her after Christmas, about a month after we wrapped."

The couple announced their engagement last week.

Well said Jamie, looks like every1 have moved and every1 seems happy, and Samantha what kind of person are u to suggest someone should stick to someone who no longer loves them, you must be out out of ur mind, seems like someone needs a reality check can’t force someone stay with u, @ the end of the day u are the one who miserable Jason was wrong @ the end of it he is happy so is Melissa so move on.

So Samantha, Jason should have stuck it out with Melisa despite the lack of Chemistry? Umm okay yeah that sounds like a real healthy start to a relationship. Yes your right, Melissa has moved, but guess what, so has Jason and Molly and Jillian and every other person that was on that season.

Him again!! I thought we were all done seeing this guy. Who cares what he is doing? Him & Molly are meant for each other. She agreed to be a leftover so anything that comes her way is her fault.

Jason Mesnick did a very bad Thing on The Bachelor.Dumping Melissa Rycroft on Tv.Goes back to Molly.Thats not Right.He shouldve sticked with Melissa Rycroft.But he wasnt Thinking Right.He made a fool of himself.But Melissa Rycroft moved on.She found the right young man to be with.Also she went to be on Dancing with the stars.She Danced Really well.Good for Melissa Rycroft.She Rules,
