Ashlee Simpson-Wentz Leaving 'Melrose Place'

Singer/actress Ashlee Simpson-Wentz is packing her bags. Ashlee is moving on from "Melrose Place," along with handsome castmate Colin Egglesfield.

Executive producers tell EW.com that Ashlee's character Violet was intended to be short-lived. Once the "Who Killed Sydney?" mystery wraps in December, the 25-year-old will say goodbye to the sexy series.

EW reports Simpson-Wentz and Egglesfield's last episode will air in January.

I’m very sorry to hear that Ashlee and Colin will be leaving Melrose Place and wish it wasn’t true. You both were great.

Glad she is going. She is not Melrose material. The show is great, when she would come on we would turn the channel. We can’t wain until Heather is on Melrose, the show is going to be even greater with her.
