Schwarzenegger's Paparazzi Smackdown

arnold schwarzenegger takes on paparazzi

California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has signed an anti-paparazzi bill making it easier for celebrities to sue media outlets for invading their privacy.

According to a statement obtained by AP, the former actor signed a number of bills to update laws pertaining to shutterbugs. The bills include an amendment which permits lawsuits against media outlets that pay for -- and make first use of -- material that they know was improperly obtained.

The more strict laws could make tabloids liable for big bucks for improper use of private pictures, and takes effect in January 2010.

Im glad the governor is spending time drafting frivolous laws protecting celebrities against the paparazi who keep some celebrites careers in the spotlight. Way to combat the 12.5% unemployment in California buddy. Youre doing a huckuva job! I will sleep better tonight after my ramen dinner knowing celebrities wont have to endure photos of them coked out after working hours.

I think this is AWESOME!! we dont have to take our work home with us all the time celebrities deserve a break too, its not fair to the celebrities to use there personal experiences against them. i hope this will stop alot of the false accusions and let the celebrities and there families live a semi normal life.
