Alana Stewart tells "Extra" she's been communicating with close friend Farrah Fawcett... beyond the grave!

While promoting her new book, "My Journey with Farrah: A Story of Life, Love and Friendship," Alana revealed she spoke to Farrah with the help of medium James Van Praagh.

"She was just very much around me. Very present," Stewart said. "She said a lot of things that only she could say to me."

"It was amazing. I was in tears the entire time," added Alana.
