Paula Abdul wishes Ellen the best of luck on American Idol

There's no bad blood between former "American Idol" judge Paula Abdul and her replacement Ellen DeGeneres.

Paula released a statement on Thursday to congratulate Ellen. The singer says, "'American Idol' is a fantastic show that offers an invaluable platform to young talent. Ellen DeGeneres is wildly funny and talented in her own right. I wish her and the show only the best of luck."

On Thursday morning, Ellen talked with "Idol" host Ryan Seacrest on his morning radio show. "I hope Paula is okay with it. I don't want anybody to think I took Paula's job away," she told Seacrest. She explained, "I feel like she was gone and then everybody was looking for somebody else, then I stepped in."

SOS to Paula!!! PLEASE come back!!! Don’t wish Ellen well; go to Fox and DEMAND your job back. Ellen is going to turn Idol into a clownfest; please rescue it, before it’s too late. I heard Ellen was TERRIBLE as a guest judge on SYTYCD, so why does Fox want her full time and permanent on their flagship program? It makes absolutely NO sense at all.

Paula is a sweetheart! We know Paula is going to be ok but Idol is going downhill big time. We are not happy with Ellen being on the show. BRING PAULA BACK!!

paula may be ok with is (officially). idol fans are not though. 90 % of idol fans are furious and think ellen is a total joke. the only positive people are ellens fans. idol fans are not positive

I think that Ellen will help the show. I and many other people I know don’t watch American idol anymore. But we all love Ellen and will start watching again because of her

Paula is free to wish Ellen luck because she probably thinks what I think… that Ellen is not going to do very well at all. Idol is going to slowly fail and die
