Jon and Kate Plus Eight changes its name

The show must go on... without dad. Jon is leaving "Jon and Kate Plus Eight" -- and a new report today says the reality pop is having a change of heart about his divorce from Kate.

TLC announced Tuesday that "Jon and Kate Plus Eight" will be renamed "Kate Plus Eight." Reality couple Kate and Jon Gosselin filed for divorce in June. TLC says Jon will continue to appear on the program, but less frequently. The show will now focus on the lives of the children, and Kate's role as a single mom.

The new moniker isn't the only change coming to Jon and Kate -- Jon revealed today to In Touch magazine that he's had a change of heart about finalizing their divorce in November. "I regret my conduct since Kate and I separated [on June 22]," Jon admits. "I used poor judgment in publicly socializing with other women so soon." Jon adds, "I would like to get back with Kate as a partner in parenting. Even though we were heading for a divorce, it appeared that Kate had been suffering from this divorce as much as I had. That's why I asked my attorney to put the brakes on this divorce so I could try to regain control over the future of our family. So Kate and I could join on a cooperative course that would benefit our family -- not destroy it."

Jon's lawyer Mark Jay Heller chimed in, "He is hoping to inspire his wife to become less rigid, inflexible and controlling and open up. We're hoping Jon and Kate can sit down together and start exploring what to do about their situation. Once they do that, the rest will fall into place."

"Kate Plus Eight" makes its debut Nov. 2.

After all the crap Kate handed out to Jon, well….he must really love her deep down to even consider getting back together. As far as TLC, they need to get out of this families lives. I have to wonder what they are thinking as the show is 0 without Jon and that is why the ratings are down. Kate is hard and ruthless. The only stability in the kids lives is Jon who has raised them and his love for them shows all over. TLC you had best reconsider and go for Jon + 8 if at all.

Personally I think Jon and Kate both showed bad judgement with airing their dirty laundry in public. I think they should both get a job and get off TV. The only reason these 2 were on TV in the first place was because of the children and how they as a couple handled them. There are always 2 sides to a story and I feel we have only heard hers.

You have got to be flippen kidding me. Do you honestly think America is going to buy the single mom act. She has no clue with a army of people helping with her kids. It was a different story when it was a young couple trying to raise mulitples. End the show for the kids sake and let her live off the money she already has. She definately doesnt have what it takes to be in that industry anyways.

I really don,t care about both of them. I just worry about the kids. Why does she still get paid for this show when she,s never around. I think they need to give it to the nanny.

Thank god! He didn’t add any substance to the show anyways! NOBODY cares about his earrings. I never saw him really parent those kids anyways, he treated them like possessions and not children. Kate! You’re better off now you can go on and find a real man who will love and respect you as who you are!
