'Dancing' Wants Paula Abdul

ABC has invited Paula Abdul to join 'Dancing with the Stars'

Job offers have been pouring in since Paula Abdul announced she wouldn't be returning to "American Idol" and ABC has invited Abdul to join "Dancing with the Stars."

"I would love that," ABC Entertainment President Stephen McPherson told reporters at the Television Critics Association summer press tour in Pasadena on Saturday. "I was a little stunned by the decision, and we would love to have her on 'Dancing,' as a contestant, participant or judge."

McPherson added, "I think she's a huge talent. I think there's a lot made of her in terms of who she is... There's a sensitivity and an emotion to her that balances out Idol, and we'd love to have a piece of that."

"Extra" wants to know -- Would you watch Paula on "Dancing"?

I hope that she doesn’t go to Dancing With The Stars. I believe the three that they have on there are the best. She was probably the one reason that I rarely watched American Idol. Yes she was compassionate with the contestants - I just wished she would act her age. What happened with So You Think You Can Dance? I thought they were going to invite her to be a judge.

I am totally disgusted with AI - Simon a hundred million, Ryan 46 mill and Paula paultry 6 million. I have always been a huge fan of AI and may not have always agreed withPaula ’ s ways but she has always been the heart of this show - compassionate and not demeaning to the contestants. I see this program as the most sexist and anti woman show ever

I think that America’s Got Talent would be a perfect fit for Paula. At least then there would be an equal number of American and British judges.
I don’t understand how American Idol could give Ryan so much more money than Paula. Sounds like they think men deserve more than women.

DWTS is not a good gig for Paula, despite the fact that it’s all about dance. Idol is about making dreams come true for regular people. DWTS is about people whose dreams already came true tyring their hand at something new. Idol makes stars out of college students like Kris Allen, Carrie Underwood, and Clay Aiken, bartenders like David Cook, cocktail waitresses like Kelly Clarkson, and single, unemployed moms like Fantasia. DWTS is just a vehicle for those who are already stars to increase their profile. Paula is all about encouraging contestants who are reaching for the stars, not those who are already there.
