Human Strength

There is no mention in the “Twilight” saga of humans drinking vampire blood for strength.

Bloodthirsty

In “True Blood,” vampire blood is used as a recreational drug called “V” which can heighten senses, give strength and cause hallucinations. Vampire blood, if ingested by a human, can help heal wounds.

Golden Eyes

The Cullens’ eyes are shades of gold — but they turn black when it’s time to eat! (The dots are for future special effects.)

Big Bite

There is no physical change to “True Blood” vampires when they’re hungry.

Blending In

The Cullen vampires attend high school and pretend to eat in order to fit in. Very few people know their true identity.

The Minority

In “True Blood,” vampires live among people and are adjusting to life.

Animal Blood Only

The Cullens are vegetarians — they won’t kill humans.

Thirsty for Blood

Bill Compton, the main vampire in “True Blood,” only drinks a synthetic drink labeled True Blood, which allows vampires to sustain life without drinking human blood.

Blurred Past

Some vampires in the “Twilight” saga do not remember their past lives as humans.

Past Identity

All of the vampires in “True Blood” remember their lives as humans.

Mind Reader

Edward can read human minds — except for Bella’s.

Sexy Vixen

Sookie, a non-vampire, can read the minds of both humans and vampires — except her love, Bill.

Beautiful Bella

Edward is attracted to the shy Bella because of her innate goodness, his inability to read her mind and the way she smells.

Bill's Crush

Bill is drawn to the telepathic Sookie because she’s different from other humans.

Cullen's Powers

Jasper Cullen can calm a room and Alice Cullen can predict the future.

'True' Glamour

Vampires in “True Blood” have the ability to “glamour” humans, similar to hypnosis.

Taylor's Transformation

Jacob, played by Taylor Lautner, can transform into a werewolf.

Never Been Seen

Werewolves exist in the world of “True Blood,” but have yet to be seen onscreen. They’ve only been mentioned during conversations between characters.

The Narrator

Very Real

In “True Blood,” vampires have emerged as a specific group in the population.

Vamp Bite

In order to become a vampire in “Twilight,” a human must be bitten and undergo days of transformation.

Tasty Blood

In order to become a vampire in “True Blood,” a vampire would drink the blood of a human, who would then drink that same vampire’s blood in return.

Hidden Fangs

In "Twilight," vampire fangs aren't outwardly visible.

Fang Flashers

In “True Blood,” a vampire can choose when to show its fangs.

“Twilight” vampires usually have a soul mate, i.e., Alice & Jasper, Emmett & Rosalie, Carlisle & Esme, etc.

Vampire Property

In "True Blood," when one vampire creates another vampire, they have control over them.

Werewolf Genes

In "Twilight," the werewolf genes only surface when vampires are near.

True Dog

In "True Blood," Sam Merlotte can control when he shifts into a dog — except for Maryann, who has the power to command Sam to shift.

Human-like

Vampires have to mimic human movements like breathing and fidgeting — they'd otherwise be as still as stone.

Pale & Cold

Vampires are like humans in "True Blood," except they're deathly pale and cold.

Sleepless

The "Twilight" vampires don't sleep.

Underground Sleep

In "True Blood," vampires live off of True Blood and human blood, and require sleep underground to rejuvenate.

Super Strength & Speed

Vampires in "True Blood," as in "Twilight," have immeasurable strength and speed.

ummmmmmmm… I’ll let you decide:
Depressed house-wifes wet dream about her past soulless self if she would have been dating a vampire that isn’t actually a vampire, and is what we call at my High School a VaMeyer,
or
some something that actually has some sort of depth, some actual vampire lore, and is not about a COMPLETELY self-absorbed, spoiled soulless teenager.
Oh, and yes, Sookie is dating a vampire, but that is not the ONLY focus. I mean, in the twilight books, they wait until the VERY end for anything REMOTELY interesting to happen, and if the REMOTELY interesting stuff had happened in real life, there would have been ONE book, because she would have DIED at the end of the first one.

I’m just so confused on how the author of twilight got any of her vampire ideas…….i mean sparkling in the sun? not crying? being as hard as a stone which i gotta say…it’d be like dating a corpse.

Wow. It seems that most of the posters here can not spell…perhaps that level of education has something to do with the popularity of this incredibly baaaaad “Twilight series”. This is the most amazingly awful bunch of garbage ever. Geared for teens, yes,it is a fact. But does it HAVE to be so bad? Heavy, brooding, pretentious, self-important… I know many young people who are far too bright and have not been sucked in to this “literary” nightmare…of course I also know some “older” women(up to40’s!)who are dim enough to enjoy it. ugh. True Blood…fun show, lots of new developments this season, government, inner politics, etc. No surprise then, that some of the Twilight-lovin posters have a hard time following it. It actually has a plot.

True Blood is for adults and people who are into vampires. Twilight is for teenagers[who think thier deeper then they are], Twilight is so pretentious and obvious with the boring teenage awkwardness. The Lost Boys would of teared those shimmering idiots apart with no effort. You could take away the vampire and werefolf stuff out of the the first 2 Twilight movies and thier wouldn’t be any real difference. The only reason anyone knows of the films exsitence is because of teenage girls[who are well renowned for thier taste and depth].

Hi, (Twilight)The Movies are cool and different. I want to keep it real for my kids. They are told that it is acting and that the Actors are telling a story on film. My comment has to do with the photo of Edward. Why is there so many dark dots on his photo? I tried to say that they were moles. My kids are too smart! They want to know if every Hollywood Actor is Photo enhanced to be made perfect in our eyes for money and fame? Tell me! It is very important for their growth and mental health.

i personally love the entire twilight saga….read it 4 times. true blood was not as easy to follow. i am 26 years old…hardly a teenager. true blood is slighty cheesy to me.

Twilight is a complete separation from traditional vampire lore. True Blood takes the long established idea of ‘vampire’ and has updated it to modern times and has essentially set up a scenario in which humans and non-humans would coexist.

Twilight has, for those of us that have actually READ vampire fiction and lore, ruined a long legacy of mythology. Those that claim Twilight is the ‘best vampire series ever’ clearly have read nothing besides Twilight that has a plot centred on vampires.

Hundreds of years of folklore and mythology ruined by sparkling vampires (sparkling, really?).

Ok first Edward AKa Rob, gets paid mad money for his hair to look like that. You can pay me and talk about me for that kinda green! Twilight is the best because, it is more like Valad the impailer. He could be in the sun, and its venomous bites, I’m not a teenager. I’m 31 and I would much rather watch kristen, taylor, and Rob, everyday than ever reading or seeing another vamp movie. Thank u twilight. Oh and I wanna move to forks…!!!

Ok even Stephen Moyer says Edward Cullen is a “fool”. this whole emo vibe in twilight annoys me…not to mention the main idiotic female who always wants to sacrifice herself for the marble block who cant die!…whatever…it is too lame! Sookie is awesome, she has spirit and can survive on her own(read the books)not like the idiot who screams in her sleep and is a zombie cause the boy loved her so much he had to leave!PATHETIC! Sookie cant read vamp minds - it states that in ALL the books and you can see that in the show too! MORE TRUE BLOOD and please can someone delete twilight from our minds, it is an insult to all mankind by having such rubbish idolised!!!

Sookie cannot read Vampire minds. Have you seen the first episodes? She even grabs Bill to try even harder to read him because touching helps make her gift stronger. He’s the first Vamp she’s met, therefore the first person in her life she’s ever felt silence around. Also, in Harris’s books, which the show’s based on, Sookie never reads Vampire minds. She’s been considered a ‘freak’ her whole life but she is ‘normal’ around Vampires. Also, for those of you wondering what Sookie’s allure is, other than her hotness, check out Harris’s books. Much more is explained about Sookie and there’s much less idiotic MaryAnne/time-wasting focus. I’m still amazed the writers decided to make her a central character of season 2.
