VOTE: Weigh In on Palin/Letterman Feud!

Sarah Palin and David Letterman feud

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin picked a fight with David Letterman after he made jokes about Yankees stud Alex Rodriguez "knocking up" her daughter.

On Wednesday, Dave announced on his show that his jokes on the Palin family were "unpleasant" and "ugly" and said he would love to have the Governor as a guest on "Late Night." Palin's camp responded with a statement saying, "The Palins have no intention of providing a ratings boost for David Letterman by appearing on his show."

"Extra" wants to know: What's going on here?

NEXT: Happy Birthday Pete Wentz!

Letterman attacks palin’s daughter because of her illegitimate child, but his child is in the same category. As an old man he should have shown better judgment than To KNOCK UP a woman before he married her. Talk about a pot calling the kettle black. It doesn’t matter which daughter he is talking about. He is not funny and he is the only one that laughs at his jokes. CBS should at least apologize for their poor taste in keeping this has been.

Everybody knows it was her other daughter David was talking about. If you cant do the time don’t do the crime.
Palin has had her 15 minutes of fame let her crawl back to her hole like GW and Chaney. I think the jokes were hilarious.

It’s truly amazing to me that there is such a double standard when it comes to an individual’s political preference. The individuals that take issue with Sarah Palin standing up for her daughter are the same individuals that whine the loudest and cry fowl when they believe they have been offended regarding their own political preference or special interest group. Grow-up people and just have some common decency along with a higher level of intellect that would recognize that Dave’s joke at best was in very poor taste, suggestive and lewd in nature. This kind of humor should have no place in the entertainment industry because it lowers the quality of entertainment a simpleminded level.

Conservatives have Rush, liberals have Dave. Who says the conservatives have a lock on talktime? Used to love Dave, but he’s become a bitter old man, increasingly vulgar. Maybe marriage doesn’t agree with him.

Jim stop playing politics, Gov. Palin is just trying to get on T.V., so she can try to run for president in 2012, but it is over for republicans.

The children should be left out of it, if you want to make jokes.

RE: Letterman/Palin Feud

Everyone knows distasteful as it was, that is was “A Joke”. All of us at some time or another have put our feet in our mouths. Being a celebrity and a politician leaves you wide open for all kinds of public critisism and bad jokes. The David Letterman show is not aired at prime time. Crude and inappropriate jokes are the norm for late night television. If you don’t want to hear this kind of trash, then don’t watch these kind of shows.

Dave was insensitive and wrong, but Sara Palin seems to care more about publicity than her daughters. Let it go and it will fade away. Respond and now Sara and her family are in the news again which seems to be what Sara really wants.

okay, well like many i was appalled when i first heard about letterman said about palin’s daughter and his references. i believe after listening to his responses last night on his show that he seriously didnt mean to offend the palin family, but i could see that he may have not been too sincere in his apology which is unfortunate. i will still continue to watch his show because he is FUNNY! his sarcasm and “bad” jokes are part of his signature and theres no need for anyone to be offended with what any well respected comedian says!!

Hey, Sarah put her family in the public eye, so it’s to be expected that they have opened themselves up to criticism & jokes…I knew Dave meant the joke to be regarding Bristol, because she IS of legal age & he would NEVER intend this to be about a 14 yr old. Get over it…Sarah’s the reason I,as a Republican, voted Obama in…God help us if the twit Palin runs for national office & gets in!!! DAVE ROCKS!!!!

I was happy to see that Sarah Palin and her husband called David Letterman out on his nastiness. It’s time someone calls this type of so called humor for what it is…”NASTY & PERVERTED”.When a comedian has to stoop that low to try and attain ratings it’s time to go find another job.Way to take on the perverted show business world Sarah,It’s high time someone does…Yes you got my VOTE in the next election.

A little biased, Extra? Sarah Palin did not “pick a fight” with Letterman. He has attacked her repeatedly, and when he did it this time to her family, she and her husband responded. Good for them! Had he made a joke like that about my daughter, he would have been answering to me and her father through an attorney!

In my opinion, David Letterman’s comments are akin to Don Imus’s comments regarding the female sports team. This is HATE SPEAK. And I am also offended by Joy B. on the “View” who defended him, because she said it was a joke. It is amazing that some comedians believe they can say anything about anyone as long as it is couched in “humor”. The only joke was his “apology”, dripping with sarcasm. Take a hint CBS. Drop him, NOW.
