Seacrest's Take on Lambert's Loss

Ryan Seacrest talked about the controversial "American Idol" season finale on "The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien" on Friday.

Millions were shocked when Kris Allen was crowned season 8 champ and judge favorite Adam Lambert came in second. Ryan told Conan there's no doubt both singers will have fantastic careers, but Adam is "one of a kind."

The "Idol" host said America decides the winner but he thinks "that if people didn't vote for the singing, then that's a shame."

I hope I’m never that sad as to actually care one whit about anything ryan thinks or says about anything or anyone.

ANY WAY YOU SLICE IT, DICE IT, SHAKE IT, ROLL IT, KRIS IS STILL AMERICAN IDOL WINNER AND ADAM IS RUNNER UP.

KRIS HAS BEEN DECLARED WINNER.

END OF STORY……….ENOUGH IS ENOUGH EVERYBODY. GIVE THE STORY A REST.

MITCHIE: Hello? That’s how a winner is determined on the show, ‘AMERICAN IDOL” - by votes. Kris won “AMERICAN IDOL” - by getting the most VOTES. What about this process is it that has to be constantly reiterated and rehashed, as if people are just now realizing it?!?!? As for the ouija board presumption - I guess we’ll see. I believe there’s music for every taste, and I like both Adam, the runner-up, and Kris, the winner.

well, Kris is the American Idol based on VOTES. The true AMERICAN IDOL based on future sales and stardom is ADAM!

What a trivial joke the AI title has become. Adam Lambert is the very best star to come out of the show and so they should just quit while they are ahead…AI9 will have no Adam Lambert…why bother??!!

Get over it peoople. Kris WON period! We voted for him because we liked his voice, style and looks. He is our American Idol. We all knew the judges and Seacrest wanted and promoted Lambert to win but it backfired big time! America voted……..for Kris.

I will write every place I can that I and 46 other people I know personally tried to vote for Adam LEGALLY by phone, redialing like crazy people, and received 3 hours of busy signals and, on average, 10 votes connected. invalid input = invalid output…but I am sure Kris is a nice guy…not his fault people chose to power text (which as an Adam fan we were told was illegal and not to do it) and Kris’ fan site was promoting using GIZMO (which was a way to vote extra hours and as an Adam fan was told illegal and not to use it) and could not help that phone lines were not able to receive votes for Adam.

I have no respect for Seacrest or the judges. Just because their pimping didn’t pay off, they do not have to be such huge babies about it. Kris Allen won BECAUSE of his singing. How dare Seacrest suggest otherwise. Glambert gave me headaches when he sang. I suspect many others felt the same way. These people live in their own little bubble in L.A. and refuse to see that people actually voted for the voice they prefer!

KRIS HAS WON, seacrust, whether you like it or not. There are those who are voted into the ‘winner’s circle’ that some of us would rather not have won. I’m not talking about Kris Allen, either. My point is, we have to deal, whether it’s a TV show contest, or something much more dire…

It’s getting disgraceful! I love both of them and America chose. Stop belittling Kris’s victory!! He’s very talented … gee! if it was American Best Vocalist, we would have crown Adam in the semi-finals… get real!!

Guys, this is just Ryan and AI producers’ way of keeping the talk going for the AI. And in the process both Kris and Adam are affected. Now, the fans are divided. Heck, why should you let the comments of these parasitic users affect your decency? I love how Adam performs and I love Kris’ singing. For Ryan to say that it’s a shame if the voters did not vote for the singing is shame back to him. Such hugh ego for a very small man. Kris and Adam have different styles and they’re both very good at them inspite of their flaws. Some might prefer Adam and his professional stance, but some prefer the freshness of Kris. He’s shown how he can work his way up, and I know he’s got more up his sleeves. For me, that is exciting. Hope his CD comes out soon.

As with Susan Boyle, I think people tend to not vote for the obvious frontrunner. But it keeps things interesting. Had Adam won, everyone would have stopped talking about Season 8 as soon as it ended. This is keeping the Idol chat going post-season. And it’s not like Kris was a bad choice to win; he is extremely talented, and his victory is justified. He is more the spirit of AI; a small town country boy who grows into a star, rather than a seasoned pro who comes in ready for a career. Kris and Adam are both going to do amazingly well. We have TWO Idols this time, and I am so excited for what’s next in their careers.

Kudos to Kris the WINNER of American Idol!! End of story! He won, playing only by the RULES set before him and he is crowned the WINNER. While those that wanted Lambert to win continue to be the WHINERS!

Get OVER IT already!! The show is “fixed, rigged, manipulated” WHATEVER, it has NOT changed since its inception years ago!!?? Someone will win and someone will lose! The non-stop bickering, whining and complaining about this issue (Extra) is unfounded, unnecessary, and liberal EXTRA B.S.!!

The insults that are hurled at the WINNER are so low, so unfortunate, and unbelievably IMMATURE!!! Pure poor sportsmanship, inconsiderate rhetoric, and programs like extra love to stir the pot!! It IS what it IS, ..it cannot be changed, will not be changed, and people should really move forward!

It’s all about respect, and I haven’t seen many Lambert fans WITH ANY to speak of.

Ryan Seacrest is the most pompous, arrogant, un-reliable source for un-bias information I have ever seen! HE is truly the reason I don’t even WATCH this show! His ego needs reeled in because he is NOT nor will he EVER BE Kasey Kasem, Rick Dees, nor even Ed McMahon!! Seacrest obviously has a lot in “common” with Adam Lambert, and therefore can’t begin to form an unbias opinion of the guy……truth be known.

- my goodness what SORE losers we are??

Ryan has redeemed himself in a way, but I did not like him when he subbed for Larry King and said the right guy won. Shame on you, Ryan.
I do wish Kris all the best. He does seem like a great guy, but——American Idol was the Adam Lambert Show this year. Everybody I knew tuned in to see what Adam would do next. Thanks Adam for an exciting 13 weeks. I really can’t bear to watch next year. The voting is too manipulated.

Kris won fair and square. America likes the underdog and prefers bland and average. It’s safe. For Kris, obscurity beckons. But he will have a long carreer. There are weddings to sing at every week and bars to sing at on the weekend. Good Luck.

I agree w/ some of tij’s points, and some of anonymous’(6/6@10:04) It’s strange, though, cause for 8 seasons, I’ve heard the judges’ comments vacillate btwn calling AI a singing contest, and saying the contestants should have the ‘whole package’, which, I feel, can be two entirely different voting qualifications. Of course, Adam seems the more dynamic, theatrical, and therefore, more ‘marketable’ in that aspect. He remains, however, marketable to a more specific than generic audience.Case in point: I thought his interpretation and performance of ‘Ring of Fire’ was the most fantastically brilliant thing I ever heard(I mean, besides anything Clarkson)on the Idol stage! Yet, so many people were extremely put off by it.(??) So what took him to that point, wasn’t enough to take him all the way. Not that ANY of this matters, because Kris Allen has won, but I remember from the get-go thinking how, as much as I loved watching Adam, I loved listening to Kris.Sometimes, the soft sell is the one that works, is all I’m saying. I love SO many different genres of music, so I’m probably not the best ‘judge’; I also didn’t vote each wk. To say that Adam being (or not being)gay, hurt his chances, is absolute rubbish. He wouldn’t have made it even to the top 13, if that were true; people are trying to appease themselves w/ that one. I just think it comes down to the fact that (AI voting)Americans, as a rule, prefer easy listening types to dramatic rocker types, plain and simple. Those who prefer Adam’s style, were simply outnumbered, as strongly as we felt about him. Why do people get so insulted when their opinions are not preferred to others’? I wasn’t happy when Taylor Hicks, or Reuben Studdard won, but I didn’t embark on a month long freakout! My freakouts are saved for more important votes that weren’t realized, and I have to deal w/ that for much longer than next May!!

- can we move on now w/ some Kris coverage?

Kris is the American Text Idol, How can he have won fair and square when some people could get in 10,000 or even 2,000 votes and others could not get through at all. AI needs to do something about that voting procedure, but then they could not brag everyweek about how many votes came in. Too bad that doesn’t equate into cd sales.

I don’t believe in bad mouthing either kris or Adam. What purpose would that serve? It’s better to be positive versus being negative.

The rightful person won, Kris. It doesn’t mean that Adam is less worthy than Kris.

Kris is bound to american idol’s contract and Kris can make a small amount of money the first year. Adam on the other hand can make all kinds of money and is not bound to american idols contract like kris will be. SO, THEY BOTH ARE WINNERS WITH DIFFERENT SINGING PATHS..AND DIFFERENT GOALS.
They both have distinct personalities and have unique singig styles.

They will both have excellent singing careers.

The public should not be hateful to either Adam or Kris. They are both good boys. There is no need to run them down in the ground.

Up lifting and praising both boys is better than being bitter and hateful and saying negative comments about the boys.

Let’s all be positive and wish these two talented and handsome young men the best.

They are both fine young men. I ADMIRE BOTH KRIS AND ADAM.
