Priscilla Presley, the former mother-in-law of Michael Jackson, has released a statement regarding the singer's untimely death.
Presley states, "I'm in shock, as I know everyone must be. What a tragic loss. My heartfelt thoughts are with his family at this very difficult time."
The actress/business woman's daughter, Lisa Marie, married Michael in 1994. Lisa Marie filed for divorce in 1996, but the former couple remained amicable.
Michael Jackson was dogged by critics that envied his ability to do what they could not. With a voice and physical movement repertoire that sang every syllable, his legacy of how to perform musically will serve generations to come. When historians look back on the twentieth and early twenty-first century, few names will survive, but one of those names will be Michael Jackson.
