Palin vs. Letterman: It's War!

Sarah Palin and David Letterman feud

It's a battle of epic proportions! In one corner, there's an enraged mother, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin... and in the other corner, it's Dave! Palin slammed Letterman for "perverted comments" he made about her daughter during his show, Letterman explained his actions and now Palin is hitting back again!

Last night, Dave said Gov. Palin is a "lovely woman" and he would love to have her on the show. The Palins released a statement in response: "The Palins have no intention of providing a ratings boost for David Letterman by appearing on his show. Plus, it would be wise to keep Willow away from David Letterman." Snap!

The tiff began on Monday night's "Late Show," when Letterman joked that during the seventh inning of the Yankees game, Palin's "daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez."

Letterman followed up with more barbs on Tuesday, joking that "the toughest part of Palin's visit was keeping Eliot Spitzer away from her daughter," managing to insult a sitting and former governor in the same joke.

On Wednesday morning, Gov. Palin unloaded and said Letterman's jokes about her daughter were "disgusting" and "sexually perverted." Palin has three daughters; teen mom Bristol, 18, and Willow 14, and Piper, 8.

The politician released a statement Wednesday saying, "Laughter incited by sexually perverted comments made by a 62-year-old male celebrity aimed at a 14-year-old girl is not only disgusting, but it reminds us some Hollywood/N.Y. entertainers have a long way to go in understanding what the rest of America understands -- that acceptance of inappropriate sexual comments about an underage girl, who could be anyone's daughter, contributes to the atrociously high rate of sexual exploitation of minors by older men who use and abuse others."

Todd Palin has his wife's back -- the hubby added, "Any 'jokes' about raping my 14-year-old are despicable. Alaskans know it, and I believe the rest of the world knows it, too."

Letterman addressed the "fight" between himself and Gov. Palin on the "Late Show" Wednesday night, saying, "I can't really defend these, they're just jokes." He said he completely agrees with the Palins' statements but added, "That's not what I did."

The TV veteran tried to clear the air and said, "These are not jokes made about her 14-year-old daughter. I would never, never make jokes about raping or having sex of any description with a 14-year-old girl."

Letterman continued, "Maybe these are questionable because the girl who actually, excuse me, but was knocked up is now 18 years old. So, the difference there is 14-year-old and of legal age -- okay, I can't really defend the joke. I agree. Unpleasant. Ugly."

"Extra" wants to know what you think. Is Palin overreacting or is Letterman out of line? Vote now!

To Extra TV: You are perpetuating the same as Mr. Letterman with your Headline getter of “Alaskan Crabs,” you are no better. But how can you expect any real and fair journalism from an overrated media outlet; brought and paid for by the progressive Socialists, Fascists, and Marxists who are trying to seize control and remake our country.

Mr. Letterman: Your comments come from a jealous man who has nothing better to do with his time. It doesn’t matter if the person is 14 or 84 it is repugnant and despicable. You should be ashamed of yourself. What if someone said that about your wife or child? How about it then? Is that ok? There are more important things going on in our country like the destruction of our economy and the dismantling of our constitution. You are a disgusting excuse of a Neanderthal and a waste of manhood. How any woman lies down with you is beyond reason?

And for RM Gray: What if your mother had decided on an abortion where would that put you? I guess no where you mindless ignorant, uninformed fascist.

And for irl: If you think that using someone’s child is fair game. Let’s put your family up there too. If you think that is funny, I’m sure not laughing. Obviously, you belong in the same category as Mr. Letterman and RM Gray. Good luck with that.

Perhaps the saddest part of all this is that Sarah Palin took her daughter to New York to participate in a charity walk for autism. Then Dave the Hater got involved…

If you believe what Letterman said was okay, consider this… What if Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity had stooped so low to say Michelle Obama dressed like a “slutty flight attendant”? What if either had said ANYTHING about one of Obama’s daughters? You know - in your heart - that they would be fired for doing so, and you would be happy. So why do you defend the cheap-shot king, Letterman?

Letterman is an honorable man. There was no hint of “rape” in any of his jokes; for the Palin’s to use this word exposes them as the media whores they are. Clearly she is more vexed that he called her a “sexy stewardess.” The only people who should be angry are hard working stewardesses, insulted by the comparison to Palin.

Dave should be ashamed of himself. Comedy , in no way, should involve children of anyone, and he should know better. It is quite obvious how he feels about Gov. Palin, through his so called jokes and comments, however, I the public, am not interested to see this. The networks should be taking responsibility of keeping a certain standard to which their programming should aspire to.

Dave Lettermen is a liberal with NO class. He verbally makes fun of politician’s kids with sick humor. Not cool. I do so hope he goes the way of Rosie… It is clear that one must stand up for their beliefs. The Palin’s are class folks and could have said much worst about Lettermen. What is Lettermen’s Child name? Then lets make crued nationally televised jokes about that child being raped by Paris Hilton or screwed by A-rod? If he can’t take it he shouldn’t dish it out. CBS ought to make him formally apologize! Not the off the cuff sick humor he tried to pull again last night.

I think Letterman has a lot of nerve picking on an 18 year old when he “knocked up” his girlfriend and only married her recently, about 5 years after his illegitimate son was born…..he’s a jerk.

I think it is time that comedians stop trying to find their laughs at the expense of others - which in this case includes children. David’s implication was very clear in his comments. His target probably wasn’t the child but the mother, and if the only way you can get to the mother is through the child it is time for everyone to stop watching that comedian, that show and that network. It is time for America to speak up to make these people stop.

Just how LOW will Letterman go ?
To get ratings !

Palin needs to go back to Alaska and stay there. Mr. Letterman has made it clear he was not talking about the 14 year old daughter, but if Palin acknowledges this it would make her case weaker.

1- Dave should get his facts straight- BIG difference between 14 year old daughter and 18!
2- When HIS kid is 14 or 18, hope he’s up for some serious karma.

Letterman went too far and showed no respect what so ever. He has always been rude but even more so now that Leno has left the Tonight show and he thinks he has it made. WRONG!!

Team Dave!

He never said rape, he never indicated which daughter - “daughter” was a reference in a JOKE. A joke that her girls are abstinent like she keeps preaching. The Palin’s are making the jokes out to be waaay more vulgar then they actually were in context of the entire show.

Palin will do anything to twist things to make her look like a victim of the media, the comedians, the “whatever” suits her purpose to get attention and keep herself in the spotlight.

She needs to go away and quit thinking she will be a president.
I say keep tearin’ her and the other hypocrites up Mr. Letterman.
