Fawcett Hospitalized, O'Neal and Friends in Vigil

farrah fawcett prepares to say goodbye

Family and friends of Farrah Fawcett have begun to gather to say their final farewells.

"Extra" has learned that Fawcett is now in the intensive care unit at the hospital, joined by longtime love Ryan O'Neal. Mela Murphy, Fawcett's friend and hairdresser of 18 years who has described her as "fearless," is at Farrah's bedside.

"Extra" has also learned that a priest has been called in -- Farrah has always been a devout Catholic.

Farrah, you are finally at peace. You fought incredibly hard. But it was your time. You finished your job on earth, now you move on to your reward,Heaven. You have given so many people the courage to fight to stay alive when they have been stricken with a horrible disease. You are truly a beautiful person inside and out. The world is going to miss you.Godspeed, FARRAH

i should think real devout catholics wouldn’t be sanctimonious and think that only their way of life is proper. who do we want to call a “devout” catholic then? mel gibson?

i hope farrah’s happy and at peace.

So sad to hear about this. I find the “devout Catholic” comment a bit much though… a “devout Catholic” would not be living with a man for like 20 years out of wedlock! I am so saddened to hear about her deteriorating health but don’t make her out to be something that she clearly isn’t.

I hope God takes her peacefully from this world.

One editorial note (to the writing staff)…make sure you know what a “devout” Catholic is before you print that. No one who has a child outside of marriage and refuses the holy sacrament of marriage would be considered “devout”.

Death is a friend that alone can bring the peace his treasures cannot purchase, and remove the pain his physicians cannot cure. ~Mortimer Collins To die proudly when it is no longer possible to live proudly. Death of one’s own free choice, death at the proper time, with a clear head and with joyfulness, consummated in the midst of children and witnesses: so that an actual leave-taking is possible while he who is leaving is still there. ~Friedrich Nietzsche,
