Will Smith on Who Should Play Black Bond!

Actor Will Smith is dishing to "Extra" about who he thinks should play the first black James Bond on the big screen.

"Extra" caught up with the megastar last night, as he was presented with the Simon Wiesenthal Center's Humanitarian Award. When an "Extra" friend asked Will who would make a better black James Bond -- himself, P. Diddy, or Jamie Foxx -- Smith responded, "Puff probably lives the most like James Bond... Jamie Foxx got the swag for James Bond. He can sing too, so he can add a new element to Bond. Wooing the ladies... and I think I can guarantee the box office!"

Jamie Foxx wants fans to know that he is definitely in the running! He told our Mario Lopez that he wouldn't mind donning the 007 tux. "Might be kind of cool. What would my drink be? Not vodka. I'd have to drink Hennessy or something like that. Little yak attack for James Biz-ond!"

Smith is no stranger to playing secret agents on the big screen. He played Agent J in two "Men in Black" blockbusters -- and hopes to return for a third! "We've had a couple of meetings. We're looking at it," Smith says of a potential third round of the hit franchise. "The team has committed, so we have to do it service with the creative part of it. Everyone is on board, so we will see what happens."

"Extra" also caught up with Jada Pinkett-Smith at the ceremony, who brushed off rumors that Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are planning on sending little Suri to Will and Jada's new Los Angeles area school. Pinkett-Smith tells "Extra," "No, Suri is not going to the school. That's just rumors."

Why keep remaking movies to suit a certain race or religon. The characters were made a certain way, leave them be. Make new heroes with new actors to love in the parts. I love all good actors and what they bring to the screen but I for one would love to see some new material. There are tons of good books and series out there. Please use some of it or develop new things.

To quit hatin, I haven’t read anything where a commentor says they hate. They are giving their opinion and they have every right to, it’s called FREEDOM OF SPEECH. No one points a gun to my head makes me mad. I read the comments, then I form my own opinion, but then again , I am not weak minded either. Comments don’t make me mad like they do you. If this story upsets me, I know where the get out of this story button is, you should have one on your computer as well, try that so you won’t get mad next time. I think that any actor that has the credentials to play James bond should get the part. The application should not have just one race as the criteria to get the part. It should be open to all females as well as all the races. Narrowing it down to one race is racist and it shouldn’t be that way at at all. It should be equal opportunity for everyone.

Some of y’all need to quit hating on BLACK people. Don’t get mad because BLACK people are starting to get recognition. Maybe if everybody wasn’t so RACIST against BLACK people then BLACK people wouldn’t feel the need to come up with there own BLACK CHARACTER’S. It seems like these WHITE movie directors are exploiting BLACK actors so BLACK people go out and see these movies in the first place. And maybe there is so much emphasis on the character being BLACK because all non-BLACK people make sure to remind BLACK people that their black everyday. Personally, I think many WHITE PEOPLE are jealous of BLACK PEOPLE in the first place. Step your game up and you won’t have to worry about the main character of a movie being BLACK. Oh yeah, and for the homosexual community, quit comparing your struggle to being BLACK it’s just tacky. What about a BLACK GAY WOMAN, Does she have it worst than anyone since she has three things about her? So for you people on here making to RACIST comments. Don Cheadle would make a great Bond. Race aside, he is an excellent actor who is often, in my opinion, underestimated.

HAVING A “BLACK JAMES BOND” IS VERY RACIST, what about the other races that are qualified actors and can play the part.

Black people are racist. What are they trying to show the world? That their race is more important than other races?

Ok, my view, why can’t we have a female Jamie Bond IF THERE IS GOING TO BE A BLACK BOND?

I agree with the earlier post, WHY does there even HAVE to be a black james bond?

Remember Jim West from the Wild, Wild, West? White guy, in the MOVIE (which was rediculous and so very far off anything to do with the series).. Will Smith was James West!!

Why does it have to be a “black James Bond”? How about an asian, or hispanic or indian or hawaiian?

How about don’t concentrate on the color of James Bond and just have a “QUALIFIED ACTOR” TO PORTRAY BOND. Why does it have to be a “black james bond?

Jamie Foxx is frothing at the mouth for the black bond role, that SOB is not right for James Bond….yet he is pushing the issue for the movie to be a black actor. JAMIE FOXX IS A RACIST!!!

I don’t understand the need for qualifying this as a’black bond’ James Bond was a character of Ian Fleming’s creation, down to the illustration, from almost 60 years ago. He was a caucasian man. Why the need to ‘re-write’ a fictional character’s race?? He is who he is. It’s bizarre. Just have a spy who happens to also be black, and develop an original character —- What’s next - a white superfly???? DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Denzel Washington would make a good black bond. He is very good looking and talented.

Or, it should be an unknown actor, that would make it very interesting.
