Sykes: Parenthood 'Puts Everything in Perspective'

Comedienne Wanda Sykes and wife Alex recently welcomed twins Lucas Claude and Olivia Lau -- and Sykes describes to "Extra" how drastically motherhood has changed her life!

"They're great. It's great," the new mom gushed, adding that her life has changed completely since the birth of the twins. "I realized that I don't matter for s***. Basically. I don't matter. Meaningless... It just puts everything in perspective."

"The New Adventures of Old Christine" star also confesses that diaper duty isn't as easy as it looks! "They're peeing on me. The little boy... I know I have to put a towel or something over top. But as soon as I put it on, he pees... It's like the carnival. He's after me."

As for getting any sleep, Sykes jokes, "Not at all. I'm napping right now." She adds, "I'm sure I have some baby poo on me somewhere."

When asked if Wanda and Alex wanted more kids, she replies, "I would love for them to have an older brother."

The twins even distracted her from the press she received after her controversial hosting gig at the White House Correspondents' Dinner. "I honestly didn't see anything or read anything. We had just had babies... I didn't get a chance to read anything... I got some great phone calls... that said great job... Hey man, whatcha gonna do? You invited Wanda Sykes. They need to talk to that fool. Whose idea was that?"

Where’s the dad? I was raised with 2 moms and I am a very well adjusted, educated man. All I have to say is congratulations to Wanda and her wife Alex. On the comedy, it was a little harsh, but that is the type of comedy she does. Yet I do feel that she could have tried o edit herself.

WANDA IS TOO GHETTO AND TOO RAUNCHY. HER BEING AT THE WHITE HOUSE WAS LIKE SCRAPING THE BOTTOM OF THE BARREL.

HER WISHING A LIMBAUGH WOULD DIE IS SO HARSH AND THAT IS NOT COMEDY TO ME. THAT IS SO SIK AND SO TWISTED.

THE PREZ STOOPED TO A VERY LOW LEVEL WHEN HE CONGRATULATED WANDA AND TOLD HER GOOD JOB.

IS THAT WHAT THEY WANT AT THE WHITE HOUSE, SOMEONE THAT WILL WISH DEAHT THREATS ON THEIR OPPONENTS. THAT IS WRONG.

THAT IS NOT HUMOUR AT ALL TO ME.

THE WHITE AND THE PEOPLE IN IT HAVE STOOPED TO THE LEVEL OF COCKROACHES.

Dear still wonder: I thought the exact same thing. But you won’t hear $h!t one way or the other much longer. I guess it all depends on who the ‘comedian’ is - Michael Richards is a comedian, too, right?

I’m still trying to understand her “rant” at the political party..

How exactly does wishing Rush Limbaugh would have died in one of the planes from 911 NOT refer to the tragedy of 911? And how is it NOT an insult to a horrific event..?

She can use the “comedian” card just like Jamie Foxx did, but it doesn’t make her any less a racist!

Let’s face it now, where is the Dad? I do oppose gay marriages, but for Sykes and wife Alex to both claim being the mom, how are these kids to grow up knowing who Daddy is? Famous or not, there can’t be both moms and no Dad in a true marriage. This is my opinion, the way I was brought up, and the way the Bible teaches. These people are just making a mockery of marriage and family life.
