David Cook's Brother Dies

After a long battle with brain cancer, Adam -- the brother of "American Idol" winner David Cook -- has died at a hospice. He was 36.


"I actually lost my brother yesterday to a brain tumor, and I couldn't imagine being anywhere else right now," Cook told the crowd on Sunday at the 12th Annual Race for Hope 5K event in Washington, D.C. -- a benefit for brain cancer research. "I lost one today, but I gained 9,000, and I will be here every year that they will have me."

According to reports, Adam died at 1 AM today in Terre Haute, IN.

Adam is survived by his wife Kendra and their children.

My 20 yr. old son has been living with a brain tumor for 10 years now. He has not had treatments other than staying on seizure meds and getting MRI’s 2x yr.
It’s WONDERFUL to have celebrities like yourself give their time, hearts and kind words to those who are fighting this disease. I am sorry for the loss of your brother, but i am sure he is in heaven hearing you speak, sing and watching you train so you can run~~~

I’m so sorry David! We just lost my uncle to a brain tumor last February and now my father is battling cancer, Its so hard to watch them suffer. I Hope you can find peace in knowing that Adam is in a better place now and is no longer hurting. You and your family and in My thoughts.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Adam Cook’s family. My brother died of cancer on May 5, 1990. It is a hard thing to deal with but as time passes the pain becomes less severe. Remember to cherish all the fine memories that you have shared. God Bless You All!

I’m so glad you were still here to see your brother David win American Idol. :::: To your family, I lost a son at the same age as Adam, so I know first hand what a parent feels. Now things are extremely difficult but as time goes on, your memories will help you survive. God bless you all.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Cook family in their time of grieving. I know the consolation of Adam being pain-free, at peace, and with God, cannot ease your heartache right now. I’m glad that I got to see (thanks to David’s enormous talent, exposing him to American Idol)a glimpse of how devoted a family they are, and I hope that gets them through their dark days, bringing them through to the light much stronger and closer.
