Oprah, Obama and Time's Most Influential!

First Lady Michelle Obama was a keynote speaker at last night's Time Magazine's100 Most Influential gala -- and all eyes were on her as she addressed the star-studded crowd.

"There are few times in history when the saying, 'we're all in this together' would be more applicable than right now," Michelle told the guests. Later, Lady O chatted it up with Oprah, who was of course also on the list.

John Legend also made the cut -- and told "Extra" he couldn't believe he was being honored next to such powerful people. "It's kind of crazy -- on the magazine cover I'm in the same row as Obama and Oprah. I'm not nearly as influential as either of them."

Michelle also made waves with her fabulous fashion choices. During the dinner, the First Lady donned an Azzedine Alaia gown, but decided to shop in her closet for her afternoon trip to the U.N., recycling a Tracy Feith number -- a move which Mandi Norwood, author of "Michelle Style: Celebrating the First Lady of Fashion," calls stylish and economical! "It's a very fashionable thing to do... and it's a very smart and savvy thing to do in a recession."

I have always been a Democrat no matter if I agreed with everything the president did or said. But enough is enough. Our country is not the country I grew up in. The goverment wants to run everything and take away all our rights.I can not believe I am saying this but I have been listening to Glen Beck on TV and he is so right, . Dems. and Reps. are going to have to speak up and stop this insanity. We must do something before it is too late, and we loose all our rights.

LMAO.. Right— the ELITE are sooooo in touch with “working America”?? puullleaze.

People like Oprah, and Michelle Obama always “speak” of how hard times were for them… but seriously, in the wealthy world they live in do you truly think that they have even a remote clue what it’s like “down here” in blue collar America?? SERIOUSLY DO YOU??!

More importantly- do you really think “they CARE”? So long as they are “up there” and rest of us are “down here” they’re content without worries.

When will Extra ever get enough of the Obamas? They LIVE and BREATHE the Obamas! Anyone whom does NOT believe that these people are elite celebrities, simply isn’t watching television. And when they ARE watching, it’s all the fluffy, wonderful stories like those that Extra carries, that brainwashes ignorant people into believing we have such a “wonderful” President.

C’mon “stress tests” for banks? How BOGUS is that? What about a “stress test” for UNEMPLOYED Americans? You see the stress in DADS taking out their entire families?? Oh, we must sure up financial backing for the next presidential campaign. (I’ll scratch your back Banks, Car Dealers, Wall Street, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae— then you can scratch mine come “promotion” time in being a rock star President in 2012).

People don’t see what this President is doing to our country, their to busy hearing about all the positives spun on every move he makes, to sort things out and see what his “hidden agenda” really is. Take that extra TAX Break he gave working america for example in their paychecks… GUESS WHAT- the Government is gonna want most of that BACK at the end of 2009???

Whoa!!! so over rated… The Pres and his wife should focus on the country. I did vote for him, but from my eyes, he’s not impressing me as a president and honestly Real Talk I only voted for him because of how he is with his family. I think that says a lot about someone. From what I’ve read and speecehes I’ve listen to I think its all politics and his position on several things waivers. He tries to appease everyone, but when you are a leader everyone will not always be happy. I agree he is like a Celeb, but for the most part its not his fault because the Media loves him and his family. The Media needs to get it together and began to report fairly. Our President is not perfect and its crazy if you dont agree with him on everything people lable you or look at you like your crazy. For goodness sake I thought in America you can agree to disagree, no one should be shunned out.Like when the VP talked about the Swine Flu people were upset with him and the Media put a spin on it like it was not a good look for the VP being vocal and my thoughts is the VP was being honest. Where is the honesty at? Forget being PC. I prefer an honest President rather I agree or not. Well this world is jacked up anyway and more violence and sexual content is exceptable now than ever also people are hypocrits and quick to throw anyone under the bus if he or she makes a bad decision. however if our President messes up its ok and America excepts his apology, if a regular citizen screws up everyone is ready to throw he or she under the bus. The first lady looks nice, I believe she is taking in the moment and enjoying it. I’m sure its wonderful being a stay at home mom. She’s intellegent and deserves the break from the working world.

Are you impressed that he raised food stamp and welfare amounts without even checking on who SHOULD get it and who ABUSES it, because the latter is much more likely. Throwing money at the problem has a certain stink to it that I won’t repeat here; just think about it. And start putting your money under the mattress like grandpa did, because not EVERYONE will be getting the help they need, only the perceived ‘victims of poverty’ will be nurtured.

OBAMA IS DOING SOMETHING FOR THIS COUNTRY AND TO HELP PEOPLE. MY NEIGHBOR, AN ELDERLY WOMAN SHOWED ME A LETTER THAT STATES THAT EVERY RECIPIENT OF SOCIAL SECURITY, SSI AND SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY ARE ALL GOING TO GET AN AUTOMATIC REBATE OF $250.00. OBAMA IS DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT, I AM A REPUBLICAN AND WHEN I READ THE LETTER, I HAD SECOND THOUGHTS ABOUT OUR PREZ, HE DOES CARE AND IS DOING SOMETHING TO HELP THOSE LESS FORTUNATE. MY OTHER NEIGHBOR WHO IS ALSO REPUBLICAN IS IMPRESSED WITH PRESIDENT OBAMA.

YES, HE IS DOING SOMETHING! I AM ALSO IMPRESSED EVEN THOUGH I AM A REPUBLICAN.

- OUR PRESIDENT IS DOING HIS JOB.

How is michelle obama on the list already? Who has been influenced that quickly by a stranger? I’m sure the rest of the list is just as ‘objective’.
