Fashion Legend Told Oprah to Lose It!

Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour made Oprah Winfrey drop 20 pounds to be on the cover of her prestigious fashion mag!

Wintour tells "60 Minutes," "It was a very gentle suggestion." She adds, "I said simply that 'you might feel more comfortable.'" The 59-year-old says Winfrey was a "trouper" and went on a "very stringent diet" and the 1998 cover went on to become of Vogue's most successful covers ever.

Ms. Wintour dished about her trademark oversized sunglasses. She says, "They're seriously useful, I can sit in a show and if I'm bored out of my mind nobody will notice." Adding, "They've become armor."

The June issue of Vogue hits newsstands Tuesday, May 19 with cover girl Cameron Diaz splashing into summer.

Wintour's interview with "60 Minutes" airs this Sunday, May 17 at 7:00 PM ET/PT.

The only way Oprah will ever lose her weight and maintain it safely is on Marilyn’s Plan for Weight Loss. Oprah is getting a bit too old to be working it off like she does in a gym. Think of the stress on her heart. We don’t want to lose her.

The assumption here is that whatever you see on a magazine cover, is in its natural, unretouched state. BBAAAHHHH!! Nothing we’ve EVER seen in a fashion mag, especially the cover, hasn’t been tweaked, re-tweaked, and re-re-tweaked to so-called ‘perfection’. Believe me, I’m not saying oprah shouldn’t lose 20 or 50 lbs, but they paractically draw over the photos w/ a giant airbrush anyway; they could’ve lopped off half an oprah if they wanted to.
