The New York Post claims Madge threw a fit when she learned Rihanna was going to wear the same $3,700 leather thigh-high boots. Apparently, RiRi backed down and went for these platforms instead.

i’m glad she did, because rihanna would have looked a torn up mess with those boots on. madonna looked okay though. but neither looked better than the other.

It’s the Costume Institute Gala, not Halloween. They are not supposed to wear costumes. Both look terrible, wearing something outrageous doesn’t make it good fashion.

Exactly. Those off-beat avant garde types of ensembles are for 20 yr. olds, not menopausal women. We had our time - it’s their turn. It doesn’t matter if you think your body looks good enough to pull it off; the fact is, you’re still old.
Madonna looks so foolish in that outfit. She tries too hard to look young. She will have to face up to it that she is old.
