Susan Boyle Meets the Press

"Extra" was in Scotland to visit overwhelmed overnight sensation Susan Boyle as she greeted photogs for the first time! The 48-year-old told the press, "I'm enjoying it immensely. I am!" She even sang an encore of "I Dreamed a Dream" for cameras!

On Friday in London, "Britain's Got Talent" judges Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden sent a message to Boyle via "Extra." Morgan says he would like to apologize. The author and TV personality admits, "Simon Cowell and I in particular were fairly mocking her... When she began to sing, it was jaw-dropping. Amazing." Morgan was obviously blown away by Boyle's talent and he "felt a little bit guilty" and "a little uncomfortable" but was moved by her performance. Holden added, "I think it was a very shallow thing to say, but we completely judged her by her appearance... We utterly judged a book by a cover. But I was absolutely thrilled for her that she proved us all wrong."

A new song was released on Scotland's Daily Record of Boyle back in 1999. Boyle belted a bluesy ballad version of "Cry Me a River" for a charity. Only 1,000 copies of the disc were ever produced.

There's no question Susan Boyle has talent, but how about fortune? Paul Potts won "Britain's Got Talent" in 2007 and judge Simon Cowell signed him to a $1.4-million contract. Some estimate Boyle could make $7 million -- even if she doesn't win!

Fortune is on its way, but a makeover isn't going to happen anytime soon. Amanda Holden tells the U.K.'s Daily Mirror, "I won't let Simon Cowell take her to his dentist and I certainly won't let her near his hairdresser. The minute we turn her into a glamour-puss is when it's spoiled," she says.

Holden would also like Boyle to remain au naturel. He tells "Extra," "I think the reason we've all fallen in love with her is because she's genuine. She looks like someone that can live on your street. Your next door neighbor or anybody you've seen in your local village." Simon Cowell agrees and likes Boyle the way she is, telling "Extra," "Part of her charm is the fact that she is what she is."

Susan has admitted she's never been kissed, Simon tells "Extra", "No, I will not be the first person to kiss her." Simon's fellow judge Piers jokes, "I'm going to take her on a romantic date to a London restaurant with some flowers and chocolates. My girlfriend is history. Susan Boyle has taken over!"

The judges and the world will hear Susan sing again when she returns to compete on "Britain's Got Talent" in May.

Truly amazing! I was brought to tears.
“Never judge a book by its cover.” A lesson that should be taught to all children, regardless of their age. Good Luck to Susan and may she sing like an angel for years to come. Can’t wait for
the first of many CD’s to be released.

Now don’t get me wrong! I love Susan Boyle and I would gladly buy any CD she puts out! BUT, she needs to take care of those brows! And I am speaking as someone who used to have a uni-brow! They distract! No professional singer should allow anything about their appearance to distract from the performance! JUST THE BROWS! NOTHING ELSE!

Susan is an incredibly talented singer/performer—I would love to see her on Broadway some day!! Too bad that initially, both the crowd and the judges, could not look past the “exterior” to see the beautiful diamond that she is, shining through so clearly. I hope they will remember this singer for a long time, and nevermore, pre-judge a “book by its cover”….

She deserves all the acolades she gets, she gave up a personal career to take care of her aging mother, the only one of 9 children. Takes a special person to do that.
I did that for the last two and a half years of my fathers life, even gave up my house to move into his to do that. Not even a thanks from my other five siblings, no help and certainly no financial help either.
Now that my father is gone, his house sold, the money split between the five that did nothing, I’m homeless. I spent what money I had taking care of him and making his last days comfortable and pleasant.
I hope Susan faired far better than I did.

You’re absolutely right Zee. She did remind me of Josh Groban. A duet between them would be absolutely beautiful, and a BIG hit! I would buy their CD

Its human nature to seek satisfaction in beauty to the eye and the wallet first. This was proven by the audience who first looked at Susan and was prepared to write her off. I have watched the video many times and in Susan, I see tons of self confidence from her and acceptance of who she is. Most us should be so lucky even the beauties among us. If you watch the video she had a little smile most of the time that said “Pay attention and I will show you what is important you silly folks” lol

Leave this beautiful woman alone. It goes to show that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
P.S. Oprah keep your dumb opinions on her looks to your self!!!

Leave it to Extra to do the Hollywood-thing and do a make-over on this woman. The whole lesson to be learned is the talent Susan has and NOT be a Hollywood redo. I thought even the judges have gone on record for the appearance vs talent. Leave her looks alone and WISH Mario had her talent!

Could this be a fluke? Like a one time deal? She seems too good…to be true, like personality……charm…talent….poise…. to be true. She has it all and inner beauty. This will be a fairytale ending for Susan.
