No Mercy -- Adoption Not Granted for Madge

Madonna adoption rejected

A residency law in Malawi has prevented Madonna from adopting a second child there. The residency requirement for prospective parents is 18 to 24 months.

People reports Madonna "kept wringing her hands" after her Malawian lawyer broke the news to her. The 50-year-old superstar filed adoption papers for 4-year-old Mercy James on Monday and was not present in court.

At the hearing, the judge said child welfare officers are required to find suitable prospective parents and "not someone who just flies in and out." In terms of the child, "I think the welfare of Chifundo [African for 'Mercy'] will be better served if she grows within the environment of the culture of Malawi," she said.

Other reports had the judge concerned about others wanting to take advantage of non-residency laws to traffic in children.

Madonna's lawyer Alan Chinula says he has "filed notice for appeal in the Supreme Court of Appeal."

Come On!

For starters this thread in extra isn’t about “everyone else”.. it’s about Madonna? I’m sure she appreciates you honorable defenses… but you got your work cut out for you if your gonna “attack” anyone and everyone whom disagrees with Madonna decisions, choices, or actions.

And since you seem to boast so highly of the “good” others do. What “lie” do you have to offer the rest of us here in this forum regarding your own good works with children? You rather volunteered ya know. And due notice I asked what “lie” you have to offer, because on the internet you can be anything ya wanna be.

Is Staci for REAL??

Madonna has money and power, I don’t see why you doesn’t support althe children in the orphange. This way, all the children can stay together.

Get off the soapbox, Madonna has enough money to support all those Malawian children, why pick one when she can adopt every single child there. She can also suport the orphnage. Madonna put your money where your mouth is. Get cracking, you can do soo much more, I have faith in you. This one incident is not going to stop you. Go to Brazil or some other souther america country. she has the power and the money….Go Madonna … look elsewhere for a child or children to adopt. That little girl looked like a little doll. too bad.

I wish Madona would adopt me, I would love to breast feed from those mounds of pure pleasure. My mouth is watering right now as I type. Plus when I get older think of all the hot chicks I can bang in Hollywood, being the son of Modona.

I love tiddies and big areola's

Are you people for real?

The child is in a Malawi ORPHANAGE!!!! Do you know what kind of conditions those children live in?! Just because you have biological family around..doesn’t make them a “REAL” family! If they were a “REAL” family that little girl wouldn’t be living in an friggin orphanage! Madonna is trying to do some good, why knock her for that? Because she has money? Sounds like some of you are a bit jealous of her money! As for David…his father signed away the child to Madonna. Translaters where there to explain it to him. Sounds like David’s better off! Or maybe his dad wanted him to have a better life!

Let me ask you…what have you done to make the world a better place for a child who needs it?

Yeah, it speaks volume that all the money in the world would not let Madonna legally kidnap a malawi child. Principles win over money. Ha ha madonna, you have your other childre A rod and jesus. that’s enough for you. put a big corn cob cork in ya mouth, yu heretic with you kabala crap.

Too funny that her majesty was dissed! Turned down!! Nada.. lol.

Never fear, she will indeed put her MONEY to work for her. Because money speaks far more volumes than any morality ever could. Sad that the world has actually gotten to this point!!

She’s a spoiled ho-bag, and what she wants she’ll always BUY. Too bad for her that “love” doesn’t fall under that category.

haha ha..

there are laws in every country…even with 3rd world countries Madonna!..she got away with adopting David..& David’s the dad is alive…hey..if Madonna really wants this kid so badly…just have residence at Malawi for 2 years (if she can..) follow the law..don’t move your way around it…the grandmother would personally see how good the adoption would be..then she can take the kid w/o anyone against it…

Hmmmm.......

I am so glad that the Malawi government had the guts to stand up to a bully like Madonna. There are plenty of countries to adopt from but she chooses one where she could exploit the poverty. Gee, now that they have turned down her application, do you think she will follow through with her “promise” to build them a school?! lol

It’s really for the best. The baby has REAL family in Malawi, and the celeb has precious little time to have someone raise yet another child. Anyway, charity starts at home, and this country has no prob w/ single parents, apparently, so maybe looking here for a child might be at least a little more sensible(if that’s what you want to call it).

Even if Madonna stayed in Malawi for the 24 months, Chifundos Grandmother would have a better chance at the adoption. Malawi is a corrupt 3rd world country. It’s best just to let that one go…
