No 'Idol' Joy for Megan

Megan Joy's reggae style failed to win over the judging panel and viewers on "American Idol" -- and the single mother, 23, was asked to exit stage right.

The Sandy, Utah native sang Bob Marley's "Turn Your Lights Down Low" for Tuesday's performance -- and quickly found out there was no hope for a save from Kara, Paula, Randy and Simon. "I'm not going to pretend that we're even going to contemplate saving you," Cowell leveled to Joy before she had the chance to sing again. Simon added that Megan's performance was "boring and indulgent," prompting the single mother to retort, "I love you, Simon, but I don't care."

Cowell snapped back, "Megan, with the greatest respect, when you said that you don't care, nor do we... this is your swan song. Enjoy it."

Allison Iraheta's punk rock "No Doubt" performance and Anoop Desai's wannabe R&B show landed both of the "Idol" hopefuls in the bottom three with Megan.

Eight contestants remain, and the competition heats up as the finalists gear up to perform a song released in the year they were born. All of the hopefuls will croon tunes from the '80s, except for 16-year-old Allison, who was born in the '90s.

There were times when she looked beautiful when she didn’t go crazy with her hair but the poor girl couldn’t sing and her awkward moves were hard to watch. I wish her well.

The contestants should realize by now that not only are they competing, Hollywood scouts keep their eyes peeled to see if any of the contestants have any bankable star qualities. Some don’t have to win the title of Idol, they do well with careers in the industry because they were courteous and not sassy to the judges. They were well mannered. The judges know everyone in the singing industry, so show respect to the judges. Don’t bite the hand that might feed you contestants.

Good for Simon; Megan needed an attitude adjustment. If you tell a judge you don’t care, you shouldn’t expect him to, either.

Anoop is on the verge of elimination …bottom 2 with one of the lowest votes…He should be more careful when he answers the judges back next time..he is being condescending now…too much overconfidence might ruin his dreams…he might need the judges save next time…

Hmmmm.......

That should be lesson to all remaining contestants…never make a comment against any judge…esp. if you need that Save from them…Megan did not really like to be an American Idol…she just needed the exposure..and being included in the Top 10 was enough for her…

Boy everyone got it right last night. Megan is a show-off and Simon did exactly what he should have done. I don’t know how she got in the top 10 to begin with.
