'Idol' Search Over for MacIntyre

Scott MacIntyre was shown to the "American Idol" door last night, after the singer/pianist failed to convince the judging panel to save him.

"This is really tough," Simon told Scott after he repeated his performance of Survivor's "The Search is Over." "I really, really like you, Scott. I'm looking over there, and I think there's a bunch of talented singers. This decision isn't just based on you. It's whether I think -- or we think -- someone is more talented over there. This is the problem."

Cowell said two of the show's four judges wanted to save Scott, while two of them wanted to send him packing. MacIntyre begged for another chance, but in the end, the panel decided to let him go. He makes it into Wiki as the first blind contestant on the show.

Lil Rounds and Anoop Desai joined MacIntyre in the bottom three -- and "Idol" host Ryan Seacrest announced that a mere 30,000 votes out of 34 million separated Scott from Anoop.

Kara, Paula, Randy and Simon all gushed over Adam Lambert's Tuesday performance once again, which Cowell gave a standing ovation. "I was extremely honored," Lambert said of Cowell's gesture. "I really appreciate that gesture. There's really nothing else I can say. I have never seen that before... I'm flattered."

Seven singers remain -- who will be the next superstar hopeful asked to leave the stage? "American Idol" returns Tuesday on Fox.

We looked forward to watching Scott
perform every week. As far as we are concerned he will always be number one.
Can’t wait to hear his music once it’s released in the stores. Your dream has come true Scott. Love you and god bless.

I really don’t think I will be watching Idol anymore this year.I think it was totally unfair that Simon didn’t give Scott another chance. He was really good & 2 of the other judges wanted him.I really think he will have a bright future with his music. That Adam the judges like so much is awful,I can’t stand his voice.Same with Lil Rounds. The only good one left is Allison.

I really think the judges should have given Scott another chance. He was one of my favorites and a really talented singer and inspiration.I hope he goes far in his music career. Simon can be so mean,I cried when Scott left.I think anyone with a heart would have given him another chance.

Adam, Kris, and Danny are all different - from each other, and from most contestants - it would be difficult for me to pick one winner from that trio, since they’ll all SO great. Lil has the type of voice you’ve heard since forever, and still hear AAAAALLLLLLL the time. It’s good, but typical; strong, yet limited and unoriginal. I love Alison’s voice so much, but I prefer her ‘rockin’ out’ a song, than singing a soft ballad. Even if she doesn’t win, she’ll do fine, I’m sure! I don’t know about comparing her to Clarkson, though, Randy dawg. Clarkson’s voice is the most versatile and beautiful I’ve ever heard. Adam will probably win if they do the ‘whole package’ thing; he’s the most multi-faceted, IMO.

I have never cried over an Idol contestant leaving but I did when Scott got eliminated he truly was an inspiration to those of us who have a disability. The judges should of saved him.Simon can be soooooooo mean at times lighten up Simon!!!!!!!

Scott is a talented young man especially given his vision impairment but I think he only lasted as long as he did because of America voting for him through something of a sympathy card.

Scott did not deserve to go. The judges should have given him a second chance. He is the whole package. Talent, charisma and stage presence and a really nice guy. he is multitalented and I’m sure he will be noticed and go far. Some of the others cannot hold a candle to him.

I truly enjoy Scott. I am really mesmerized by Adam, who has great tone and control in his tenor voice, and whose performances are awesome. But I felt there was still room for Scott. I personally am ready for Lil to go. Scott has had some good weeks, Lil not so much. I wish Scott the best in life…it has been a joy to watch and listen to him.

So to tell the tween crowd here, but Adam Lambert is the worst singer I have ever heard. First off he can not sing at all. American Idol judges are fixed on him, this so called competition is fixed for Adam to win, the judges love affair with Adam is stupid.

I always look forward to watching AI because it gives me joy, excites, entertains and just let me enjoy the night with something to talk about after. But tonight, I found myself crying for Scott. Not because he was leaving the show but for being a success in being in AI. I’m very happy for him for experiencing what AI can offer. It’s an irony that Scott’s elimination became an inspiring moment on TV. It’s a memorable moment.

Scott was truly inspirational and he is a definately an “American Idol” already in his and everyone’s heart. I think he deserved a second chance but I also think this isn’t the last of Scott Macintyre!

Scott needed to go—couldn’t sing at this level. Danny is really great.
Adam WILL WIN—hes BREATHTAKING, EXCEPTIONAL, FABULOUS. For those who say it’s not fair that he has experience, I say why haven’t you been working as hard as he has for the last 15 years to perfect your skills? This is’nt a competition to help a singing novice, it is a competition that gives the public a singing Star. ADAM has always been a star, he is just now public!
