My brother has been a vegan for several years now.Personally I couldn’t do it,I love vegetables but I can’t avoid dairy.I eat meat once a while when I crave it.To each his own is right but I find that vegans try to push it on others,at least my brother does.

I’ve known men who smoked/drank/ate wrong who died younger than necessary. And I’ve known health nuts who always ate properly; they don’t take medications now and I do. I’m somewhere in between healthy/unhealthy eating. I do love this segment and Kathy did a good job.

Yeah, but LOOK at her. She’s obviously talking about perpetuating that gaunt, unhealthy, ‘hollywood thinks it looks young and cool’ deprivation stereotype. Real humans need a little bit of everything, including lean meats, to maintain optimum health. Some of these people are so obsessed w/ gaining one lb, that they don’t even enjoy eating at all. What happens if you get sick? As you get older, you need a little extra cushion!

You must be kidding! it figures a vegan… My Dad is 92 and he smoked when younger eats meat, drinks coffee everyday and enjoys a drink now and again. If I live that long I will be happy. Just goes to show everything in moderation

Kathy is a strict vegan, so she is a little biased on meat. Meat is not bad for health, it contains a lot of minerals that act as antioxidants, like Copper and Manganese. Antioxidants are linked to cancer prevention. If you have the money to buy tons of vegetables, then go ahead, otherwise I’d recommend you spend 5 bucks for a nice steak. It’s not just about getting your “protein” — strive for variety and balance, it makes life easier. Good job Kathy.

I’d rather enjoy my wine and coffee than live longer. I’ve read people who have lived to be 100 and had never given up these foods. To each his own! Live and let live.

Love this segment! I have been telling people that for years! I hope my ex mother in law (who teased me for being a healthy eater) saw this. I also hope she choked on her Little Debbie a little bit.
